The AFL Semi finals got underway with a history making win for Hawthorn over Adelaide averaging just under the one million mark at 994k. The result compared to the equivalent Friday Night Final of 2024 that averaged 1.07 million (with no 7Plus component). Better Homes And Gardens also aired on Seven’s main channel in three markets and did well to get just under 500k.

Over on Nine, the Storm beat the Bulldogs at home as the NRL Finals got underway. The Qualifying Final topped the one million mark to rank third overall for the night. The result was well up on the equivalent Friday NRL Final last year that had 767k.

For those not into football, ABC offered Gardening Australia that was steady with 441k while Professor T that followed slipped slightly to 319k.

Love It Or List It Australia on 10 slipped below 200k after a Deal Or No Deal repeat had 108k. The Brighter Side, later missed the top 30 again.

Nine News was the number one show of the night by a 20k margin after Tipping Point secured another +200k win at 5pm

Earlier, Sunrise was well over 400k again with a +100k margin back to Today. However, The Morning Show that followed (featuring DDr Chris Brown) recorded its lowest rating of the survey and was <30k ahead of Today Extra.

The AFL and the NRL Finals Series both rated very well.

The ABC did well enough against the competition. 10’s Love It or List It (rpt) made the top 30, but did dip from last week.

The return of the Hard Quiz repeats in recent weeks (6.30pm on ABC) has been proven to be popular. Deal or No Deal on 10 at 7pm may be “popular enough” earlier in the week, but it’s repeats on Fridays fail miserably. 108k last night isn’t that hot flash.

So BH&G aired fully in one market on the main channel. Only 30 minutes was seen on main channel in Sydney and Brisbane. So I am guessing that is the average across 7 and 7two with market splits. One would assume that the first 30 mins rated stronger in Sydney and Brisbane before people went to the AFL or otherwise went to 7two

Absolutely woeful. Why do they think this is acceptable. I can only imagine the metro 5 figure number.

In the past when this used to happen every week in Melbourne, the 7Two spill segments had a different program code and weren’t included in the average. So the rating would be the main channel 30 minute segments in Sydney and Brisbane + 7Two full program segments in Melbourne and Adelaide + Perth main channel.

Impacted last night by 7pm start time for both AFL and NRL finals.

I figured that. But it cant surely be much higher on regular Fridays as it never appears in top30 on total or demos.

Anyway we all know its more than just that friday 7pm slot thats an issue, so i guess its not even on 10s radar

Around 30% so metro figure was probably around 83k.

If you said 10 years ago Ten would rate 83k at 7pm you’d be laughed out of the forum.
