This page, linked off that one, appears to state all those boxes will stop working by the end of the year. A switch to full S2 is the only assumption I can make as to the reason for the EOL.
Interesting. Thanks for pointing that out and apologies for not seeing that link before I commented.
I wonder if we’ll hear from the other FTA’s regarding their satellite feeds, or if they’ll just quietly close? I also came across this link for customers having issues with the +2 channels. The wording suggests their days are numbered, too.
Weird that the iQ2 is getting killed off with this though, as that would be DVB-S2 compatible for the HD channels.
Although there would be other reasons to stop supporting that.
They can also ditch dual encryption with Irdeto too
Another price rise coming according to the website.
Do you have a link?
Assuming it’s this update?
From 1 September 2025, the price of the Foxtel Plus pack (including Platinum Plus) is increasing by $5 per month.
It’s on the homepage under customer updates.
beIN is back on Foxtel. But you will need to pay extra.
Still waiting for Foxtel to put the DAZN app on the IQ boxes.
If they can do that before the NFL season starts, I’ll be delighted.
I use the Apple TV app for the last two years.
That wouldn’t be including Stan, Prime Video, Paramount, Disney+ & Britbox though
I think they’re showing you can get Foxtel content for cheaper through streaming arrangements.
I’m surprised they didn’t try and plug Stan somehow.
But you don’t get ALL of the FOXTEL content through those 4 streaming services they listed.
My understanding is Netflix and HBO is free with (some) Foxtel packages and that is why the comparison is limited to the content which is included with Foxtel
Didn’t want to mention Stan as they would have to talk about their recent price increases
Possibly a missed opportunity to hold the price for a bit so they could make Stan look good by comparison?
There’s not allot of exclusive content on Foxtel nowadays.
Famous channel to close 26 August. Most programming moving to Showcase, Real History and Lifestyle.
