If you’re going to go stupid, let’s go to the max.

I wouldn’t rule out some sort of deal with Stan or someone, DAZN does sports, the other partner does entertainment.
No. Max hasn’t started up yet.
Sky’s branding has always been so much stronger than Foxtel’s. Consistent visuals and fonts across entertainment, sport and news, great product names like ‘glass’ rather than hubbl etc. No connection with the awfulness at Fox News. It’s a shame we didn’t get the complete Sky branding and package from day dot.
Well…soon all DAZN will have access to is cheap Asylum movies and softcore porn. So they’ll have to come up with stupid names for channels when they lose the good stuff to Max.

How about just DAZ, as in short for Daryl, as in, “DAZ, meat meet Stan.” Oh yes and I almost forgot about Max.
(this post was edited to correct the spelling of meet.)
Or DAZZA
Sounds rude.
No it doesn’t.
You could have DAZZA, SHAZZA, BOZZA, CHAZZA, BAZZA, JEZZA, the list goes on.
It’s the meat which is the rude bit.
OK, I’m sure this is funny to someone but let’s move on.
Get Daryl Somers on board as spokesman? He could also allow the service to use the Hey Hey content archive
The new British Cinema channel debuts on the service from today, with Aussie Classics launching next Tuesday 25th February, though both channels will only be available in standard definition at launch.
TV Blackbox understands both channels are permanent additions to Foxtel’s lineup and will be available as linear streams on BINGE, though video-on-demand (VOD) access to the film libraries will only be available to Foxtel customers.
Standard Definition only? What is this, 1997…
I wonder what the thinking is behind this… Seems like a weird line to draw.
Standard definition movie channel in 2025 is laughable.
British Cinema is a collaboration with Australian film production and distribution company Transmission Films, offering hits like Slumdog Millionaire, Death at a Funeral, Churchill, Ammonite, I, Daniel Blake, Le Weekend, Stardust (David Bowie), Bend It Like Beckham, and Harry Brown.
That’s a fairly limited range of British movies on offer. Foxtel needs to sign with more distributors such as StudioCanal and Universal Pictures (which owns Working Title, maker of Notting Hill, Four Weddings and a Funeral, etc.) to ensure the channel is viable.
Yeah, I think that’s just a snapshot of some of the movies available and not an exhaustive list.
The linear Foxtel channels on Binge is an afterthought, just like making some sports available.
Could either be the cost for acquiring the rights given there may be a difference between OnDemand on Foxtel via a subscription service and a streaming one, or some sort of weird thinking that it’s a better value proposition for Foxtel?
