New channels? One of them would likely need to replace the DreamWorks Channel, especially since Universal Kids (in the US) is shutting down. My guess is that Boomerang might fully transition to Cartoonito branding as well.
Why not open Cartoonito as a standalone channel alongside Boomerang & CN?
Will Cartoon Network and Boomerang even be around soon with Max launching shortly?
I’d personally hazard a guess and it probably depends on contracts. DAZN probably will offload the Binge half of Foxtel to Max would be my guess.

In that case they would offload Binge, Foxtel linear too. Not just binge.
entertainment is just as big as sports.
The benefit comes from being able to bundle sports and entertainment:

If you have a look at Dazn now they do that but with Sport related platforms. You subscribe to Dazn then there’s all these other subscription options available but there all sport related.
We don’t know yet - maybe later in February we might have a better idea (assuming a March launch). Given previous channel launches, not sure I’d expect anything groundbreaking
They may only be interested in the sports elements, they may also be looking at ways to diversify. We don’t know.
Either way, they’ll need to keep Foxtel (as a whole) functioning.
I assume they’ll ditch the Foxtel name and go with Binge and Kayo/DAZN as the two brands and Binge will include the legacy satellite customers. Too many brands is confusing. I’d be interested to see if they then offload Binge to Nine or Max or someone else.
Seven needs a streaming service. A bargain bin purchase of Binge might happen.

I think it they added a 7 plus premium subscription model , with more content , I would be up for there.
My main concern is they do get rid of the entertainment stuff, then what happens to those who forked and arm and legs to get foxtel packages and boxes.

Aren’t Foxtel boxes supplied free with a subscription?
They could do that now; just have it, if you want see the shows advert free, upgrade to 7+ premium.
Do it the same way YouTube does, you’ll have plenty of people purchasing it if the price is right, with the shows they have on 7+ now.

Foxtel to hike subscription prices
Foxtel has informed customers that a number of subscription package prices will be increasing, as the pay TV provider prepares for ballooning sports and licensing rights.
Starting from March 1, the price for the ‘Platinum’ and ‘Platinum with Netflix’ packages are increasing by “between $2 and $3 per month”. Customers were notified of this change on Wednesday afternoon.
They’re really trying to push users off the service now aren’t they.
I’ve noticed that the main Foxtel website no longer shows the price of plans either. You must log in to view all the bundles.
(EDIT: Weirdly enough all the bundles showed up when I used Incognito even though I don’t have a Foxtel account)
The service will be dead soon.

$2 or $3 seems in line with the CPI. They’ve done this before.
