Is the delay on these still a lot worse than the IPTV 4k channels? Or is it no different?
3, 4 and 5 do buffer a bit but not too bad. It’s not like the AFL app updates before I see a goal on TV like I’ve seen with Kayo (at my brother’s house).
The HD and 4K sports channels via IP on my IQ5 are about 20-25 seconds delayed (measured by finding a channel with a live clock on screen). I find this tends to be about 10-15 sec behind regional free to air.

The US news channels all broadcast in UHD over ip, sure makes a difference! Not sure if Foxtel and Flash have these.
The FAST channels on my Fetch box start up almost instantly, but probably helps that they are only a fairly low bitrate SD.

US barely do 4k, find it hard to believe there are news channels broadcasting in 4k.

They were trialing 4k upscale production at one point so if they are it may just be based on that.
4K Upscale seems pointless, needs to be native 4K to be of use.
And, to my eyes, the improvement from HD to 4K is not as noticeable as the jump from SD to HD was.

Yep I agree. It’s ok if you’re using 4k cameras but some are HD so these are the ones that get upscaled. But to do a whole 4k upscale? I’m not sure why a lot of the major networks in the US do this. Whether they still do it I’m not sure.

The Fetch FAST streams are all full HD 1080p except the 3 ‘Now’ music channels. I’d say they load quicker due to not requiring authentication.
I only have the free ones, I think they are only SD? But yeah, i was thinking of the music channels when I posted that.

Would be good for Disney to have ESPN exclusively. Pick up
More subscribers and screw over foxtel’s business model. Hopefully to be removed off kayo as well. Foxtel beeds to continue to be dismantled.
So people would have to pay for both Kayo and Disney+ to access what they used to be able to get on the one platform?
Sounds like that would be a great outcome for consumers.

Not a good outcome for some but as long as Disney+ doesn’t take away AFL from Kayo and my club subscription good luck to them and their American sports!
I have no love for the Foxtel owners but I also find Disney+ extremely disappointing. The only thing I watch on there is Grey’s Anatomy and will only subscribe for a month when there are a number of episodes to watch.
