Foxtel is worthless for me now other than AFL, NRL, Horse Racing and Cricket
So get Kayo?
Telstra has publicly supported the proposed sale of Foxtel Group, after News Corp reportedly fielded a takeover offer from US-based firm Platinum Equity last week.
Telstra chairman Craig Dunn spoke about the proposed sale during the company’s annual general meeting (AGM) on Tuesday, saying: “We think that would be a sensible move or decision to make on behalf of shareholders.”
Dunn added: “From time to time the importance of certain assets and their contribution to the value proposition we make to our customers does change.”
Tesltra CEO Vicki Brady said likewise during an investment call with reporters, although she stressed any sale was in its early stages.

almost exactly the same except substitute horse racing for F1 and V8 supercars
Yes - it used to be BBC Earth. Been there since August:
Wow if that’s what they’re getting now I’m glad I’m out. Channels like that you can get for free.
That exact channel is available on 10Play.
Exactly.
Foxtel has spent at least $79 million launching its new Hubbl TV platform…
The accounts show Foxtel had a good year for advertising. It reported revenue of $2.9 billion in the 2024 financial year, which was made up of $2.5 billion from subscribers, $360 million in advertising and $46 million from agency and installation fees.
Despite a wider television advertising market downturn that has stripped $650 million from free-to-air broadcasters over the past two years, Foxtel’s ad business rose 6 per cent from $339 million. Adding advertising to Binge, the company’s streaming service, last year may have helped. As at the end of June this year, Foxtel said it had 4.8 million total subscribers across pay TV and streaming, which was broadly in line with the previous year.
(Have to post it here since the original MDT thread is locked)
Don’t know how long it has been there, but just noticed a 7two IP channel has popped up on channel 256
Same here, in Melbourne.
7TWO has gone HD in some regional areas (e.g. regional Queensland), so could this be a sign that the same thing will happen in the state capitals?
They could do one better and include the Mildura area to receive 10 Melbourne via satellite like Foxtel metro viewers in Melbourne can. But why bother? Free to receive CDT (South) via VAST which is essentially a relay of 10 Melbourne anyway.
And it’s gone! Curiously though, at the moment, if you use channel up or down, it skips over 7TWO SD (156), and if you type 15, 7TWO isn’t even listed. The only way to get to 7TWO is to enter the channel number manually and in full.
They would have to set the STB up to receive channel 10 via VAST. I don’t know if Foxtel can do that .
I stand corrected. It’s in the guide but in the wrong place, so channel up-down works but not in the usual place.
Don’t think Foxtel can do either on their STB’s.
Not CDT (South) from VAST owing to VAST having a separate encryption system.
And legal restrictions possibly stop the Foxtel only transmission of 10 Melbourne into Mildura which can only be accessed by Foxtel satellite viewers in the Melbourne TV1 LAP.
This is from last week
Assuming based on the screenshot it’s moved ready to become 256, ie 7two in HD
Interesting they haven’t moved 10Bold or 9Go! up there despite the 100s versions of the channels being updated to the HD terrestrial version.
Not that they have any logic behind the multichannels channel numbers to begin with (the HD channels still being in the 200 block doesn’t make sense either, since they’ve put the +2 Foxtel channels in there).
