I wanted to ask the question?
Would it be possible for me to upgrade my parents foxtel box (iQHD) from 2013 to a iQ4 or iQ5 (when released?)
My mother is a legacy customer of what was Austar, but we got the box through Telstra when they signed up for an ADSL +2 bundle at the time for Internet as well.
The box has nothing wrong with it, just that NBN has been on premise for a few years now, and a new (long time coming) Telstra Smart Modem Gen2, the box has no features usable or useful any more.
Now, with the plan my parents have with Telstra, it would cost pretty much the same if they are to remove foxtel from it. I’m just trying to justify, that with the Unlimited Internet bundle we have, the box is useless.
I’m planning to go in and visit my local Telstra store to see about an upgrade, (got the box when we moved into this house, 2013) and to anyone asking, yes, we have a Telstra TV 1st gen, but it’s in need of an upgrade as well, been failing since I set it up out of the box.
Bottom line is…
Any point in justifying with Telstra over the plan of Unlimited Internet and Foxtel, with a featureless box, to upgrade?
I’m open to all suggestions.
