Foxtel Movies

no thats not what i meant. i meant the channels structure. and no it doesent mean world movies are coming back. it looks like the channel structure is going back to they way it was before the current channel structure . which to me is a bit strange because the current channel structure works alot better then the old structure

75% or more of these chick flick/rom coms are terrible, there are tons better out there, though I never expect much with this genre

Appalling choice! Universally panned as one of not only the worst movies ever, but also one of the most pointless. A near word for word, scene for scene remake of the original Hitchcock masterpiece. Vaughn and Heche might’ve fitted alright :joy: But a film Oscar winner Julianne More would rather forget and an equally excellent actor in William H Macy.

Better yet, why have a horror film in such a polar opposite category/occasion. Anyway

Foxtel Movies Celebrates Quentin Tarantino

Academy Award winner, Quentin Tarantino’s latest release Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is in cinemas this month and to celebrate, Foxtel On Demand and Foxtel Masterpiece Movies is showcasing an assortment of Tarantino’s work streaming On Demand throughout August.

The “Quentin Tarantino Spotlight” On Demand collection features the acclaimed Director’s greatest hits all characteristic of Tarantino’s renowned, distinctive style and original film-making including Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Jackie Brown, Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Kill Bill Vol 2, Inglourious Basterds, and From Dusk Till Dawn.

The ultra-violent, unusually-chatty heist movie Reservoir Dogs (1992, MA15+) stars Harvey Keitel, Steve Buscemi and Tim Roth. Shot in 35 days for just US$1.2 million, the movie introduced the auteur’s trademark blend of comedy, savagery and whip-smart dialogue.

Pulp Fiction (1994, MA15+) is widely regarded as one of the most influential movies of the 1990s. Tarantino’s deliciously dark tale interweaves the story of hitmen Vincent and Jules (John Travolta and Samuel L Jackson, respectively) with that of gangster wife Mia (Uma Thurman), former boxer Butch (Bruce Willis) and nervous armed robbers Pumpkin (Tim Roth) and Honey Bunny (Amanda Plummer).

Jackie Brown (1997, MA15+) is another of Tarantino’s masterpiece movies with real life, relatable and grounded characters, and compelling dialogue. Set in the 1970s, Jackie Brown (Pam Grier) is an ageing air hostess who smuggles money for gun runner Ordell Robbie (Samuel L. Jackson). The movie also stars Hollywood heavyweights Bridget Fonda, Michael Keaton, Robert de Niro and Chris Tucker.

Kill Bill Vol. 1 (2003, MA15+) and Kill Bill Vol. 2 (2004, MA15+) gave Tarantino an opportunity to show off his action directing chops. Both movies star Uma Thurman as a former assassin who – after awakening from a four-year coma – wreaks vengeance on the team of assassins (Lucy Liu and Daryl Hannah) who betrayed her, including their leader Bill (David Carradine).

Inglourious Basterds (2009, MA15+) is a World War II movie starring Brad Pitt, Christoph Waltz, MĂ©lanie Laurent, Michael Fassbender and Eli Roth. It tells the fictional alternate history of the unwitting convergence of two independent plots to assassinate Hitler, one planned by a young French Jewish cinema proprietor, and the other by a team of Jewish-American soldiers.

From Dusk Till Dawn (1996, MA15+) written by Quentin Tarantino is also included in the Foxtel On Demand collection. The American supernatural crime-horror movie is directed by Robert Rodriguez, and stars George Clooney as Seth Gecko, and Quentin Tarantino as his psychotic murderous brother Richie Gecko, alongside Harvey Keitel, Juliette Lewis and Salma Hayek.

Notice how Harvey Keitel, Michael Madsen and Tim Roth appear a lot in the above post? (Tarantino trademark over the decades of using these non-mega drawcard actors throughout all his films)

Are you saying

is a nobody?

Any word on when Foxtel will unlock these for 2 weeks free again? Its been over a year now.

Did I imply that did I? Sorry. By mega, I mean your top dog starring role $1b films.

Keitel is one of my fave actors, but most roles I’ve liked him in have been supporting (Reservoir Dogs, Sister Act, National Treasure, Thelma and Louise, From Dusk till Dawn (loved his role in that), The Piano.

The headline indicates two UHD movie channels not one, and they give the same channel two names.

This is confusing me. I know TV Hits and 111 Funny will be replaced by Fox Crime and Fox Funny, and Movies More and ESPN will be replaced by 4K channels but listing Masterpiece? I don’t know, but maybe that was a LCN confusion error (408 vs. 508)
