Foxtel Movies and Cadbury join forces to bring Australians closer together

Foxtel Movies and Cadbury today announced a major new partnership that will bring the connection, excitement and emotion back to in-home movie nights for all Australians - creating a sense of togetherness through the magic of film.

The new twelve-month partnership between Foxtel and Cadbury will use the magic of film and the deliciousness of chocolate to deliver an enhanced in-home movie experience for Australians. A first for both companies, the new campaigns reflect Cadbury’s brand identity ‘there’s a glass and a half in everyone’, and shines a light on moments of connection that bring people closer together, while enjoying Foxtel Movies.

Foxtel will integrate Cadbury across a selection of its 10 dedicated movie channels - Premiere, Romance, Action, Comedy, Thriller, Greats, Masterpiece and More Movies – along with popular pop-up channels and presence on Foxtel’s On Demand movie offering FoxFlicks which delivers over 1,000 premium titles from major Hollywood studios.

At the heart of the partnership is a series of six seasonal ‘epic movie moments’, shot exclusively for Cadbury through the lens of a traditional Australian family. The spots demonstrate how Foxtel’s premium movie offering and Cadbury - the nation’s most loved chocolate brand - can forge moments of true connection. This campaign will be supported by themed programming, integrated content, promotions and events - all designed to entertain and generously give back to Foxtel’s valued customers. The spots were produced in collaboration with Foxtel’s in-house agency.

A Taste of India Pop-Up Weekend on Foxtel Movies

Foxtel Movies is paying homage to all things Indian across its A Taste of India pop-up weekend from Saturday 1 December to Sunday 2 December, with 48 hours of back to back Indian themed movie titles screening live and streaming On Demand.

Inspired by the land of dreams, aspirations, food and love that is Bollywood, the special Foxtel Movies pop-up weekend will share the movies that showcase the most entertaining stories and most stunning visuals from India.

AACTAS Week on Foxtel Masterpiece Movies

From Saturday 1 December – Friday 7 December

Foxtel Movies will showcase the best of the AACTAS in the lead up to the 2018 AACTA Awards presented by Foxtel , with a week of the best Australian nominated and winning movie titles featuring talented Aussies.

All titles are available to stream On Demand via FoxFlicks, Foxtel Go and Foxtel Now. AACTAS Week on Foxtel’s Masterpiece Movies channel starts from 8.30pm on Saturday 1 December with The Sapphires featuring Jessica Mauboy, Miranda Tapsall, Deborah Mailman and Chris O’Dowd , followed by Red Dog with Rachael Taylor , Josh Lucas and Noah Taylor.

Some of Australia’s biggest AACTA sensations will screen nightly for seven days including Muriel’s Wedding ( Toni Collette, Rachel Griffiths ), Animal Kingdom ( Joel Edgerton, Guy Pearce, Ben Mendelsohn, Jackie Weaver ), Rabbit-Proof Fence, The Great Gatsby ( Joel Edgerton, Baz Luhrmann ).

The 2018 AACTA Awards mark the 60th Anniversary of AFI I AACTA, giving the Australian Academy and the screen industry the opportunity to celebrate its incredible history, talented practitioners and world-class productions.

Feature films nominated for 2018 include Boy Erased ( Nicole Kidman, Joel Edgerton, Russell Crowe ), Breath ( Simon Baker ), Cargo, Sweet Country ( Bryan Brown, Ewan Leslie ), Ladies in Black ( Rachael Taylor, Susie Porter, Ryan Corr, Noni Hazelhurst ).

Foxtel has secured a total of 21 nominations across Drama, Lifestyle, Entertainment and Factual in the highly competitive Television Awards categories.
This year’s winners will be announced at the 2018 AACTA Awards Ceremony presented by Foxtel, on Wednesday December 5 in Sydney at The Star Event Centre.

An encore screening of the AACTAS will screen on Foxtel Arts at 8.30pm on Sunday December 9.

In the lead up to the 91st Academy Awards, Foxtel Movies is set to showcase the best Oscar winning films including those that have taken out the Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and Supporting gold statues across years of extraordinary filmmaking that has moved audiences worldwide.

Celebrating this year’s awards event held at Hollywood’s Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles on Sunday February 24, Foxtel Movies is bringing you the winning titles so you can prepare for Hollywood’s night of nights, all which have been honoured with the most prestigious award in film: an Academy Award from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences.

The Oscar Winners pop-up will screen back to back for nine days from 6.00am Sunday 17th February to Monday 25th February 2019, including La La Land, The Shape of Water, I, Tonya, Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri, Titanic, Forest Gump, Good Will Hunting, The Departed, Saving Private Ryan, Erin Brockovich, The Dark Night, Million Dollar Baby, Chicago, Spotlight, Darkest Hour, The Godfather, Jerry Maguire and Rocky with all titles available to stream on Demand.

Whenever I see this title it always gets my blood boiling, a rare case where there was almost universal critisicm, in that Ellen Burstyn should’ve won for her incredible portrayal in “Requiem for a Dream”.

While I agree that Burstyn should have won, Roberts’ performance in that movie is exceptionally good as well.

Will Foxtel have FoxFlicks as a “Kayo” style movie streaming service at a competitive price? Makes good sense.
