Email message to Foxtel Movie subscribers
The new channel, Foxtel Movie Greats, will launch on Friday March 23 and will be available at no extra charge as part of the Movies pack.
We know how much our customers love movies and we understand how important it is for you to have an extensive library to choose from. We also recognised a gap in not providing a service dedicated to the all-time movie greats. Our new channel, Foxtel Movie Greats screens movies of every genre and celebrated film favourites from the 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’s. I have also received a number of emails from some of you about the closure of Turner Classic Movies in 2016 so I hope this new movie channel, along with the Fox Classics channel, will provide plenty of opportunity to enjoy some of the greatest movies ever made.
Foxtel Movie Greats will be carefully curated with a wide selection of outstanding motion pictures from every major Hollywood studio, including 20th Century Fox, Disney, Warners, Sony, Paramount, Universal and MGM. The channel will feature titles from Hollywood’s illustrious past through to modern classics. It will mean that you will now have the choice of 10 dedicated movie channels, including our incredibly successful Pop-Up Movie channels. We have secured brand new digitally remastered prints of many of the titles which will add to the magic.
All movies are ad-break free with fresh titles added to the line-up every week – combined with over 1200 movies to watch On Demand^ – including the World Movies service.
Key titles during the launch of Foxtel Movie Greats, will include Pretty In Pink, The Goonies, St. Elmo’s Fire, Trading Places, King Kong, An Officer And A Gentleman, Kramer vs. Kramer, Saturday Night Fever, The Godfather, Greatest Show On Earth, Risky Business, Flying High and Flying High 2, Chariots of Fire, Escape from Alcatraz, Death On The Nile, Murder On The Orient Express and all time classics such as My Fair Lady, Cleopatra, The Great Escape, Ben-Hur, War & Peace, The Ten Commandments and many more.
In addition to the introduction of Foxtel Movie Greats, I am also delighted to let you know that veteran movie critic, Bill Collins, will be part of an expanded On Demand library service available to you, also from March 23. Bill’s popular “Golden Years Of Hollywood” will be available via a dedicated section of the On Demand library boasting a large number of Bill’s personal favourites and the all-time classics from Hollywood’s golden age.
At launch, the titles available in Bill Collins’ On Demand library will include All About Eve, All That Heaven Allows, Sunset Boulevard, The Wizard Of Oz, Singin’ In The Rain, An American In Paris, Casablanca, The Philadelphia Story, The African Queen, Auntie Mame, The Postman Always Rings Twice and Magnificent Obsession.
I hope you enjoy the new services and remember you can also enjoy some outstanding motion pictures, all commercial free, every day of the week, on the Fox Classics channel. Movies are screened every day at 12 noon, 2pm and every night from 8.30pm.
