Fox Sports

Simon has been the mainstay of Fox Sports’ soccer coverage for more than a decade. Big loss for the broadcaster.

Return back to the UK or Optus Sport or SBS? Or could he become a freelancer?

Brenton Speed will likely be the next chief A-League caller.

Expect Optus Sport to snap Simon Hill up and perhaps have an Australian panel to introduce selected EPL games with other guests.

For the A-League and FFA Cup

Isn’t he married to Steph Brantz? If that’s the case, unless she wants to leave Australia, the first won’t happen.
Could see him doing work on Optus.
Maybe not at SBS.
Maybe both as a freelancer and elsewhere if someone wanted to treat football with some respect.

With additional notes for the new-look coverage for A-League when it returns next month.

When A-League returns on July 16, Fox Sports will feature a commentary line-up of Adam Peacock, Robbie Slater, Tara Rushton, Archie Thompson, Brenton Speed, Mark Bosnich and Andy Harper to present and commentate all matches from a central studio.

The decision to call matches from a central hub due to COVID-19 restrictions has allowed Fox Sports to reduce its commentary line-up.

Apparently Fox Sports are not showing the upcoming England v West Indies Test cricket series.

England are hosting West Indies, Pakistan and Australia so interesting to see if they end up showing the Australian games.

Maybe seven might get the rights then

Doubt it would be FTA. Bein sports could always get it though.

And pay with what? Peanuts?

From memory, this has happened before with ECB sanctioned (non Australian matches) cricket on Fox Sports. Usually pops up on the guide very late.

Fox offering the bare minimum, ECB accept very late even only few days prior to the event.

This follows the trend of Fox confirming coverage of the ECB sanctioned series reasonably close to broadcast

Rushton said: “I’m excited to be crossing over to the world of two wheels this weekend. It’s an exhilarating sport to watch and an exhilarating sport to be part of. The story lines evolving ahead of the 2020 MotoGP season are truly captivating – Aussie Jack Miller looks set to shine and is a fantastic character to get around, Marc Marquez – what can’t he do? Can he reproduce his stellar form of 2019? And who doesn’t want to marvel at Valentino Rossi ? I can’t wait.”
