News Corp have revealed the kick-off times for this year’s Las Vegas games.
This is the first time the kick-off times have been made public, with the NRL working with Fox Sports in America to attract as many viewers as possible.
English Super League champions Hull KR will face Brad Arthur’s Leeds at 11am (AEST) on March 1, with the match kicking off at 4pm in the US.
The Cowboys and Knights have earned bragging rights as the first official NRL competition game of the new season, kicking off at 1:15pm (AEST) and 6.15pm local time.
The two Sydney teams that have already sold-out two chartered flights loaded with supporters, the Dragons and Bulldogs, will kick-off at 3:30pm (AEST) and 8.30pm US time.
Fox Footy didn’t change over until the season proper either (out side some vision of monitors on the boundary showing the new graphics, which leaked some blurry images)
The Australian reports today that former Roosters star Jared Waerea-Hargreaves would be joining Fox Sports this year as an analyst. He ended his rugby league playing career last October when his side Hull KR won the Super League grand final.
Waerea-Hargreaves will make his on-screen debut this Friday morning (Australian time) during Fox League’s live telecast of the World Club Challenge between Hull KR and Brisbane Broncos. When the NRL season starts on March 1, he will appear as a panellist on Super Saturday, alongside former Roosters teammate Cooper Cronk and Yvonne Sampson.
Andrew Voss called two matches for Fox League today: the World Club Challenge between Hull KR and Broncos in early morning (Thursday night in Britain), and the NRL pre-season clash between Warriors and Dolphins from Sydney’s Leichhardt Oval in the early evening.
