Yvonne Sampson has signed a new four-year deal with Fox Sports, according to The Sunday Telegraph’s Phil Rothfield. Yvonne joined Fox Sports from Nine in 2017.

I really wish they’d get her back to 360. No idea if/when Paul Kent is going to be back but that show needs to go back to the Ikin days and I reckon she’d be the best to do so (if she wants)

No way. She was terrible on 360.
The show needs to be blown up entirely and be remodeled so it’s more like AFL 360 in being the NRL’s ‘show of record’ rather than being a poor initiation of First Take and the other American sport debate programs.

Fox has to do something, NRL 360 is frightfully terrible television and really highlights the lack of depth that Fox has for Rugby League reporting (and probably a decent reflection of how poor the wider media coverage of the sport is).
They need to look at how and why AFL 360 works and try to move towards replicating it

I’ve never watched AFL 360, what are the differences between the two in the way they’re both done?
I think to an extent Fox has probably figured out scandal sells (on their website, on 360 etc and one arm feeds the other) but that doesn’t make it right - especially as they are a rights holder of the game.
AFL audiences seem a bit more discerning or at least interested in the game mechanics rather than creating scandal/controversy.

Who called the PM’s XIII game today?
Dunno for Fox yet.
Nine had the rights to show the games live (there was a women’s PMs XIII game too); for them Brenton Speed was play-by-play for both games; Phil Gould was beside him for both, as was Brad Fittler for the men’s game and Ruan Sims for the women’s.
[Of course, Kangaroos games played in AUS or NZ come under anti-siphoning, but that doesn’t extend to the PMs XIII match… but it’s likely that as a result of the former, it just gets sold as a bloc so Nine get the exclusive live rights]
Fox is replaying the games this morning (women’s game being shown 9.20am AEST) so we’ll find out whether they put their commentators over the top (I’m sure they will) or whether they left it as is.
Edit: Matt Rendell and Shane Flanagan called the men’s game for Fox; Ben Homer and (former Jillaroos captain) Tarsha Gale the women’s game. Ben’s probably more known for his soccer commentary but his own showreel from a year ago also showed him popping up on WBBL and Fox Netball coverage.

Interestingly, video highlights of PMs XIII match at the NRL website and YouTube channel didn’t use Nine or Fox League commentary, instead it featured the call from host broadcaster, TVWan of PNG.

Huh, I couldn’t find it on my IQ’s TV guide when I was searching for a replay. I might stand corrected on that but I did go hunting for it before saying that.
