Monday Night Football - 15 June

Monday has never sounded better with LIVE footy available between the Roosters and Bulldogs, and a special pre and post-game NRL360 episode featuring Matty Johns, is LIVE tonight.

Johns makes his return to Monday nights on FOX LEAGUE when he joins the NRL360 panel before, during and after Monday Night Football alongside Paul Kent and Ben Ikin.

FOX SPORTS Head of Television, Steve Crawley, said:

“Monday Night with Matty Johns was a rugby league institution. Now it’s back – only for a week but that’s probably long enough. We’ve worked hard to build the NRL360 franchise in its place and Matty could ruin it in one night.

Let’s hope he behaves himself. To be honest it’s wonderful to have Matty and Monday Night Football back if only for a week. It’s a celebration.”

The defending premiership winning Roosters will put the Bulldogs to the test LIVE and ad-break free during play for Monday Night Football from 7.00pm. Michael Ennis, Steve Roach and Matt Russell will call the action for FOX LEAGUE with an extended 45-minute NRL360 post game show straight after the full-time whistle.

NRL360 episode featuring Matty Johns, is LIVE from 6.30pm AEST tonight – only on FOX LEAGUE, on Foxtel and Kayo.

I thought that Warren Smith would do that game.

He said on Twitter that he’d do it from memory

A huge scare for Andrew Voss who had emergency surgery on Wednesday to save the sight on his right eye, according to The Sunday Telegraph. X-rays at Sydney Eye Hospital revealed he had three tears on his retina that were leaking blood and threatening his eyesight. Remarkably, he called the Cowboys-Roosters game on Thursday wearing his wife’s glasses, had more treatment on Friday, before commentating last night’s Raiders-Storm clash.

Dunno what’s happened to Andrew Voss. He was supposed to do Thursday night’s GF rematch between the Roosters and the Raiders and tonight’s Rabbitohs v Knights clash. Warren Smith replaced him on Thursday night and Brenton Speed called tonight’s game. He’s still scheduled to call tomorrow afternoon’s Panthers v Cowboys game but I won’t be surprised if Matt Russell calls that game.

Rugby league’s No.1 commentator Andrew Voss has had emergency surgery to save the sight in his right eye.
The Fox Sports star was told by Sydney Eye Hospital specialists he could potentially have gone blind within two weeks had he not undergone surgery on Wednesday.
The 54-year-old caller feared for his broadcasting career when X-rays revealed he had three tears on his retina that were leaking blood and threatening his eyesight.

The Sunday Telegraph reported today Voss had a vitrectomy, a form of surgery to repair scar tissue on the retina and to stop a blood vessel haemorrhage behind the eye, during the week, which prevented him doing commentary work this weekend. He posted this photo on Twitter yesterday.
