Considering that FOX just slashed the rugby staff in half, don’t be suprised if more presenters and shows get axed not just on FOX League but across the FOX Sports brand.
Why don’t Foxtel just concede defeat and look for an overseas buyer? Because things clearly aren’t working for them.
Get rid of the specific channels and run generic channels. Much tighter programming rather than having so much padding and repeats on fox
League and fox footy.
I tend to agree with this, magazine shows are important but sports channels should be broadcasting live sports 24 hours over the weekends, especially with sports going on accross the world.
Graeme Hughes has been sacked as the host of Controversy Corner, with Andrew Voss taking his place, Danny Weidler is reporting in The Sun-Herald. It sounds like more cost cutting.
You may remember Jimmy Barnes and Tina Turner did a duet of the latter’s hit song (Simply) The Best to promote NSWRL’s 1992 season. The Sunday Telegraph reports Jimmy Barnes has secretly performed (Simply) The Best in the middle of the Sydney Football Stadium construction zone as part of Fox League’s promotion campaign for the upcoming NRL season. The song was recorded in Barnes’ home studio before Christmas with Tina Turner’s approval, then synched with the shoot on the dirt from the old SFS.

So I take it Vossy won’t be doing many if any Sunday games this year if he’s committing to CC?
Dare say it may not even be live anyway. If it is though there is a huge stable of callers so I don’t know if it’ll be a huge drama
Andrew Voss
Warren Smith
Matt Russell
Dan Ginnane
Brenton Speed
Wonder if they’ll still call warriors games from the studio or take the sky call if they are in fact cost cutting.
I’d prefer that they take the SKY call.
So would I, more authentic being at the ground.
The inaugural Perth Nines started today at NIB Stadium and Fox League will show every men’s and women’s match live.
Lara Pitt is having a third child.
Perth can welcome the Sharks as their NRL Side if Expansion does’nt work.
Maybe Geoffrey Edelsten could not buy them again. (A spectacularly pathetic moment in the history of Sydney rugby league in 1986 when Edelsten ‘gave’ the Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks to his then wife Leanne as a surprise wedding anniversary present. It all came to nothing as later that year it was revealed that Edelsten’s extreme wealth was largely a myth).
Last year it was usually recorded live just after 6:30-7:00 PM (can’t recall what time it was on, but often Bill Harrigan had to leave the MMM box early to make tapings). Depends largely on when the show is scheduled to be aired.
Does anyone know why only one game of super league is on this weekend?
