Jarra made his debut on Geelong v Fremantle yesterday, and will call for Fox Footy on a regular basis during the 2025 season. Cats premiership forward Tom Hawkins, who retired following his team’s loss to Brisbane in last year’s preliminary final, also appeared on Fox Footy’s match coverage for the first time.

What’s the deal with the press conference mics for Fox? For Gee V Fre & WB v NM they used Fox Sports mics, but for Syd V Bri & Col V PA they used the SSL mics.
I didn’t see him on the coverage much at all.

Wonder if there’s a reason why the Super Saturday logo part of the scoreboard disappears on the generic feed but not the Fox feed.

Can someone who watches Fox via satellite tell me what they are broadcasting at the quarter breaks?
I use Fox Go, and whatever is being shown is replaced with a static screen saying something like the coverage will resume soon (I forget the wording) but because its static, it makes it feel like the channel has frozen

What would one do if they didn’t want to know the score of the other match?
“look away now” as they used to say. It was somewhat humourous during Nine’s period as AFL broadcaster that they used Hunters & Collectors “Do You See What I See” as the music on their “look away now” scores.
Maybe put some cardboard over that bit of the screen? Does your TV have a zoom function which can remove the bug and other score graphic? My TV has a zoom which I can then position, which I sometimes use if I’m watching something on ESPN and the lower-third results and headline ticker is bothering me.

Looks like there are new goal animations. It’s now bigger and has the name and picture of the goal kicker.

It was there last week as well. They just don’t use it for every goal.
My suspicion is that it is used when the graphics operator is very certain who kicked the goal and can quickly pick that player from the list, otherwise the smaller generic animation gets used.

I get the feeling they weren’t missed a few calls.
Last week for the Crows vs Saints game Riccuito was the only one in the tv broadcast box with the others in Melbourne. As you can see from my photo. I sit at the same level directly across as the Media Centre.

During the pre-match of Brisbane v West Coast this afternoon, ABC commentator Quentin Hull criticised Fox Footy for calling the clash from the Melbourne studio. Alastair Lynch is the only one from the team at The Gabba, he was part of the entourage who helped the unfurling of the Lions’ 2024 premiership flag.

Seems like Fox are only sending teams to the ground for Thursday and Friday Night games this season in addition to Victorian based games.
I assume they’ll be in Adelaide for Gather Round.
