Fox Footy

Great, with over halfway done lol

(as long as the grants keep coming)

So is it BOG or a proper analysis show?

There’s literally no reason why this show couldn’t have started in Round 1 of the AFLW season, with the Sunday time slot free due to no Bounce on etc.

Because they don’t care.

If they actually cared all the major show’s (360, etc) would be on air until the AFLW ends, or at least have a similar amount of programs for the AFLW.

That would be a silly business decision. There is not enough demand for wraparound AFLW programming.

Any reason why Fox Footy has a countdown timer during the AFL GF but Fox League shows replays of old grand finals when the NRL GF is happening?

Fox League might have a different rights deal than Fox Footy for their respective code.

I know Fox Footy used to have half-time and full-time analysis of the Grand Final before the replay until a few years ago.
Did anyone actually watch those, though?

Someone at Fox Footy remembers 2006, when they got 50k people watching the previous year’s Grand Final (between the same teams, West Coast and Sydney).

That would’ve been embarrassing for Fox Footy Channel, especially on what was their final full day of broadcast before it shut down at 4:00am the following morning (this followed the expiration of the 2002-06 broadcasting rights shared between them, Nine and Ten).

Or, it could’ve been top-notch trolling from them.

I suspect there’s probably some sort of agreement by Fox not to show full games against the live final now.

It’s still talked about in media circles. I can’t remember if it was on a podcast or on radio but I heard someone recently tell the story of how they only realised half way through they were watching the previous year’s grand final.

Mind you, it was fitting in 2006 with it being the same grand finalists as 2005, which is probably why 50k people fell for it.

Different management direction?

Don’t worry if you miss Trading Day live this week - you can catch the almost endless repeats on Fox Footy

Shame there is some AFLW to break up the monotony of the same program

I wonder what this means? You’d hope “surprises” refers to comedians or other random appearances and not an increase in women or diverse voices…

Ruby has also been on the Bounce show this season and I expect this to continue in 2025 and be part of Fox Footy’s expanded commentary team

well that’s just mean, and rude, and … a little accurate.
Anyway, I’m sure he’ll do a much better job than Selwood on 7. Great player, but my goodness, Joel does not add much if anything to the coverage.
