Fox Footyâs Facebook page getting the normal complaints on why they arenât showing the GF live, it happens every year.
You have to wonder if the general public are that stupid.
Or maybe itâs because Fox intentionally mislead everyone by promoting their coverage as âGrand Final Dayâ, which is also what it says on the EPG during the match.
They never explicitly say theyâre previewing the match or mention they donât have the rights.
The 2020 AFL Draft will be shown live on Fox Footy and Kayo on Wednesday, December 9, at 7.30pm AEDT. It will be held in Melbourne as a virtual event.
Makes sense for Foxtel to try and lock in an early extension. Likewise, it would make sense for the AFL to wait until next year and build some competitive tension (especially if Stan Sports gets off to a good start)

King will put the nationâs top talent through the Fox Lab to find their strengths and weaknesses and look at how they fit into the club lists.
Jones will guide viewers through the eveningâs action, with special guests, draft expert Mick Ablett , and AFL Talent Ambassador Kevin Sheehan .

Actually felt sorry for the Fox team (Shifter Sheahan and Michael Ablett were their studio experts) having to sit there for nearly 6 hours before the whole thing finished.
Well we can all see now why itâs normally two nights.
The AFL today announced fixture for the 2021 pre-season tournament, which is without a sponsor after the contract with insurance firm Marsh ended. It will start on February 18 when Geelong take on Essendon at GMHBA Stadium. Every match will be shown live on Fox Footy.
The opening four days of the pre-season will overlap with the semi-finals and finals of Australian Open tennis due to the tournamentâs late start. The Cats-Bombers clash will be the first AFL match in Victoria open to the public since they met in Colac in March 9 last year.
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said the new extended broadcast deal, along with the Seven Networkâs extension for the 2023-2024 seasons announced earlier this year, would deliver $946 million to the AFL industry over the two years.
Will this mean Fox Footy will show the AFL Grand Final live in 2023-4?
Doubt it. Pretty sure itâs just the same deal negotiated in 2015-2016 for 2017-2022 but with an extra 2 years added onto it for a slightly lower price.
The AFL announced today that its pre-season competition had been reduced to one game per club due to state border restrictions. The Community Series, which will now be held in early March, has also gained a new sponsor in current league sponsor AAMI, replacing fellow insurance company Marsh. The revamped fixture is yet to be announced but every game will be shown live on Fox Footy.

Odd one that.
