The rain probably kept a lot of people away.
It was good that they kept the coverage on during the delay not like channel nine
They did breakaway to show a few episodes of Cricket Legends to fill in time
OMG! Serisouly? One is a commercial station with commercial interests, the other is a dedicated PayTV channel that is dedicated to cricket. Of course they were going to only show cricket! Just cause of a rain delay didn’t mean they were going to put on episodes of a Country Practice or Blinky Bill!
Nine knew people didn’t want to sit through there own dribble talking for hours on end about the rain covers. They also showed old games when they knew the delay was short, and other shows when they knew the delay was more than hour. #getoverit
Nine had cricket, Fox now has it. These stupid comparisons to how good fox is, is f’ing annoying. You are comparing and apple with a banana and saying they are the same thing.
Next time it rains I am looking forward to not seeing any sort of cricket on the cricket channel.
They could have gone to Sri Lanka vs England in Kandy but rain was falling there as well. Legends I’d suggest was a second choice.
Some coverage of the day’s Sheffield Shield action (featuring several test hopefuls) wouldn’t have gone amiss.
There wasn’t much to report batting wise yesterday!
This is why I’m actually glad that someone other than a FTA network is getting more sports rights. FTA networks do the bare minimum whereas Foxtel, Optus and other emerging online providers provide 24/7 content, more panel and analysis shows, non-stop live coverage, no ad-breaks, etc. Although it’s no longer free, the coverage at least is better and more comprehensive.
Very debatable, the analysis is often over repeated and not exactly different to FTA and the voices often drag on as long as the FTA telecasts.

Commenting on the film series, Peter Dickson said: “For me and my team to be able to once again work on a feature cricket documentary in 2018 has been a tremendous thrill and challenge. 2 Nations 1 Obsession is not only a story about a rivalry on field between India and Australia, but a deep and at times emotional look at the game and its importance to the relationship between two nations who are culturally so different.”

We are thrilled to release this film on the eve of another epic contest between our two nations Pete and his team have done a wonderful job in bringing to life the stories of the great contests from the last 35 years. I didn’t think Foxtel was going to have any ads for the cricket!?!
no Ad Breaks in play*
*Excludes Drinks, break of innings, rain delays and product placement both visual and in commentary
Oh thanks
So basically just not between overs and after wicket?
just not between overs
So really Foxtel has brought the highlights from other summers and a few games in the rights deal?
Not that I am wishing for more rain, but I am wishing for more rain delays…
IIRC, Cricket Australia owns the rights to old matches and were sold as part of the deal.
Hmmm… when the almighty dollar is more important than the sport; as it was said, cricket didn’t need fox but fox clearly thought they needed it. The underlining questions has this increased people buying Fox?
