Also, I don’t watch it often but I’m fairly sure The Big Break was green screened today? Even the cups looked…Augmented reality.

Sounds like the audio issues on the 4k feed are coming back (audio crackle which develops into a robot-voice for the comms). There are also some video glitches.
How so?
Those cups look like they’ve had the logo applied to them artificially.
And hard to show on a still but it looked like it was on a screen rather than a window to the ground

I think that’s been the case all the time with that show. Don’t think they’ve ever tried to convince otherwise.

Must say I was a little amused when I heard Adam saying “We’re in studio for the moment” and then the name graphic popped up with the subtitle “Live from SCG”.
I should disclose that I also don’t watch this often if ever.

I know it’s not worthy of comment now, but seeing that Fox aren’t even at the MCG today, I am super interested to know how much money they are saving by commentating from the studios rather than the ground. Will the stadium facilities and service costs be that high? I suppose every dollar counts though.
It does beg the question that if they are really looking to save money, why bother to fly out Hussey and Watson to Melbourne anyway, they can just commentate from home like a few did during the covid era.

They used to have the sitting Prime Minister join the coverage a tradition - excusable but at least to the extent that it was a long standing thing so it made sense.
I don’t think inviting octogenarian former PMs into the commentary box adds anything but weighs down the coverage.

Yeah I knew exactly that this was a studio commentary when they only showed the commentary booth and not the commentators at ground level.
This is what I don’t understand. It’s the biggest match of the season - 60k crowd with the Melbourne Derby. Also they had people fly into Melbourne only to do studio commentary?
This was the behaviour that 7afl called out in winter but I guess they won’t do the same with cricket because Fox are the Test cricket hosts and don’t want retaliation
