12 European teams have qualified for the tournament proper next year after the completion of first round qualifiers this morning, Australian time. They are the winners of their respective groups: Germany, Switzerland, Scotland, France, Spain, Portugal, Netherlands, Austria, Norway, Belgium, England and Croatia. The second round (play-offs) will be contested by the twelve group runners-up and the best four Nations League group winners, based on the Nations League interim overall ranking, who finish outside the top two of their qualifying group.
