Football⚽️

It’s supposed to be a top tier event in the football calendar. And you’re playing it at an athletics track. If this is meant to be our version of the FA Cup, then fucking hell, it’s the Temu version. Actually, that’s an insult to Temu. Imagine if the NRL played their grand finals at PointsBet Stadium if the Sharks made it because they’re the lower placed team.

If this shit is going to happen, then have it at a neutral venue, like the actual FA Cup. Which ever state federation wins the cup, they have the hosting rights. Like Eurovision. And set the date well in advance.

The FA Cup Final decision and the A-League schedule of two more reasons why football in this country has gone backwards. They can’t run their professional leagues properly, they’re trying to bring back the NSL through the back door, they won’t be able to do promotion/relegation properly whilst we have the league structure we do have and having teams from New Zealand, the TV rights deal is a dud, providing support to a confederation that should not exist, need I say more?

Basketball will be no. 2 summer sport after cricket. No question. The NBL and WNBL seem to have their shit together.

We are heading for Crawford Report Part 2: Electric Boogaloo.

I hope we pump Heidelberg. Good, long and hard.

So Ange will win something next season?

The Socceroos defeated New Zealand 3-1 in Auckland’s Go Media Stadium tonight, winning the Soccer Ashes 4-1 on aggregate.

Is this season 1 or season zero? :joy:

Depends on who you talk to.

If you’re asking the owner of Forest, he doesn’t care, he wants titles now…or else! Look at him - someone you don’t wanna cross in a dark alley.

Yeah, from the little I know it’s out of the frying pan and into the fire for Ange here.

Ange will be alright. He’s done the hard yards, you don’t get to where he is without doing the hard slog. I think he knows what he’s getting into.

Just in: Chelsea facing 74 charges related to alleged breaches of agent regulations by the FA.

The breaches include those “of Regulations J1 and C2 of The FA Football Agents Regulations, Regulations A2 and A3 of The FA Regulations on Working with Intermediaries, and Regulations A1 and B3 of The FA Third Party Investment in Players Regulations”.

(For the record, I’m not bothering with checking what they specifically indicate.)

The period in question is between 2009 and 2022, with primary focus from 2010-11 to 2015-16 seasons.

The club has eight days to respond, but has already done so anyway.

With Allianz Stadium undergoing turf works, Sydney FC will play three of its first four home games of the new season at Leichhardt Oval. The Sky Blues will return to Allianz in January.

Leichhardt Oval does seem to be the new “second home” of Sydney FC.

After the original Sydney Football Stadium was being rebuilt, Sydney FC played at Kogarah Oval. Even the A-league Women’s Grand Final was held at Kogarah during that period.

Since then, Leichhardt was the home for various Football (soccer) events, including many Women’s A-League games for Sydney FC, and some of the Men’s Australian Cup games.
