What a memorable game. I was lucky enough to one of the fans holding the big flag at the start of the game.

There were probably 2 victory fans there for every city fan. My voice is horse, I cried and almost passed out when the whistle was blown.

Commiserations to Victory and their fans. I know it sucks losing these things!

It was amazing to see so many turn up for a game of football.

Police have charged a 24-year-old West Melbourne man and a 27-year-old Kingsville man with several offences relating to allegedly manipulating cards for gambling purposes in four A-League matches during April and May.

Football Australia has placed “no-fault interim suspensions” on the two players following the charges. One player is from the A-League and one plays in a state league.

The two men were bailed to appear at Melbourne Magistrates’ Court on July 31.

UPDATE 3/6: media reports have named the A-League player charged as Riku Danzaki from Japan, who plays for Western United.

Of course the othet networks go after the old sokkah mentality. 2SM had a go at PSG supporters after they went nuts after the Champions League win.

Sadly Victory have history with their fans acting like twats. But police could’ve handled it a lot better.

Also, Nine (and others) love to bash the sport. Its their MO.

Saudi Arabia defeated Bahrain 2-0 overnight, and remain third on the group C points table, three points and -8 in goal difference behind Australia. That means Saudi Arabia need to beat the Socceroos by at least four goals in their final match in Jeddah next week, to overhaul the goal difference and directly qualify for next year’s World Cup.

South Korea and Iran have qualified for next year’s World Cup. South Korea beat Iraq 2-0 in Basra, while Iran lost 1-0 to Qatar in Doha.

Meanwhile, Uzbekistan have qualified to thr FIFA World Cup for the first time, following a 0-0 draw to The United Arab Emirates in Abu Dhabi.
Jordan have also qualified to the FIFA World Cup for the first time, beating Oman 3-0 in Muscat.

Postecoglou’s statement

Makes sense right - he always wins a trophy in the second year, so why would you want him after that?

To win another one?

Can we have him? Eitther the Jets or Man Utd.

Or reverse Ted Lasso and send him to the Knights.
