Got to wonder whether expansion is in the league’s best interest now that two licences (Glory and Newcastle Jets) are held by the league themselves looking for new owners

I get the impression they look at the MLS as another closed league example with huge expansion fees being paid out to the other owners, rather than caring about the standard of football as well as being intent on yet again shooting Australian football in the foot just as we might see a lot of momentum out of the Women’s World Cup.

The Socceroos’ qualifying path for the 2026 FIFA World Cup was confirmed earlier this evening during the AFC qualification draw in Kuala Lumpur. Australia have been drawn in Group I alongside Palestine, Lebanon and the winner of the first round playoff between Maldives and Bangladesh.
