Optus surely has to show some interest in A-League and/or Champions League. Without either it won’t be able to get more subscribers.

I am worried about Seven’s coverage of Women’s World Cup if it gets the rights. The proposed tournament dates (July 10 to August 20) falls in the second half of the AFL season, thus matches on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays will be bumped to 7mate. A prestigious tournament like this should be broadcast on main channel, except for matches that kick off simultaneously.

I always think of this when I think of Seven and soccer.

Do we know when these rights are being announced?

isn’t supposed to be finalised this week…

Melbourne City have won their first trophy after joining the competition as Melbourne Heart 11 years ago: they claimed Premiers Plate after beating Central Coast Mariners 1-0 at AAMI Park this evening.

From the A-League Memes page…usually they don’t change their icons unless they have a deal…

Aaaaaaaaand looks like its a goer - 10 and Paramounr+

So far that story is just a reprint of Ray Gatt’s posts on Twitter, so there’s no confirmation.

True, true. But interesting they look to be going with 10.

You know, there is a club in the Hunter with a prime spot for some Paramount+ sponsorship.

The next season of the A-League and Westfield W-League will be broadcast on Network 10 and Paramount+. Further details about the broadcast and commentary team will be announced soon.

The Hunter Mariners no longer exist though :frowning:

You know which team I am referring to @OnAir  - the team that last time the A-League was on 10, was unfairly robbed of a title.

Due to the current COVID lockdown across Victoria, Western United’s clash against Macarthur has been moved from Melbourne to Sydney’s Leichhardt Oval and will now be played next Monday (May 31) at 7.05pm.

Western United will finish their regular season with a visit to Central Coast Mariners on June 5, so United players are leaving for NSW a few days early.

I forgot to mention this…

If we keep winning, a very good chance Victory gets a well deserved wooden spoon.
