Fuck $ydney FC. They can join the Roosters, Storm and Wildcats in the hell of over-successful sporting wankers and die.

Does anyone care?

The fixture for the 2020 A-League finals was revealed tonight, after Melbourne City beat Western United 3-1 at Kogarah Oval in Sydney. Every final will be held at Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, with the elimination finals to be played behind closed doors, and limited tickets available for the semi-finals and the grand final. Fox Sports will show every final live, with selected matches to be shown on delay on the ABC.

According to this tweet the A-League ratings on Fox Sports are in the gutter, under 10,000. It rates six times that on the ABC. The netball on Nine rates higher the soccer.

Having the A-League on channel 507 (Fox Sports More) doesn’t help.

Predictions:
SF City v Phoenix
SF Sydney v Western
GF City v Western
C City

Not sure where the numbers in that tweet come from or which day they are for - the Netball rates significantly higher than is stated in the tweet.

That tweet mentioned the ratings for Sydney FC v Western United. The match was held on August 15, last Saturday.

That’s because they have ABC ratings for this game.

I think Fox Sports are slowly prepping it for departure. Shoving it on a obscure channel, bugger all promotion…it smells like prepping a pig for slaughter.

Does the coming soon bit mean the sponsor or the kit?

The sponsor of the kit - apparently we have a new major sponsor lined up.

Although, if you’re getting FIFA21, Inspirations Paint will be the sponsor on both kits.

There is also a third kit planned, and rumours are it’ll have links to local football history.

It’s a sad situation really. The NZ Government needs to be flexible in its quarantine arrangements to allow Phoenix to play in Wellington later in the season.

The Asian Football Confederation, who are under pressure to complete the tournament and meet broadcaster demands, have refused to budge and told clubs there would be heavy sanctions if they chose not to compete - including a severe $300,000 penalty, a two-year ban from the ACL and the responsibility to bear any other losses the AFC would have suffered as a result of their decision.

The remaining group matches in East Asia (including Sydney FC, Victory and Glory) will be played in Qatar from November 18 to December 4. The knockout matches will also take place in Qatar from December 6, culminating with the final against Persepolis on December 19.
