hey @tvcl, where’s the “TVCL Sydney AU - South” webserver

It’s been renamed “West”.

Eagle Farm TEF has had an antenna change.
About 18dBuV improvement on average across the band.

Hi all. I haven’t been on here since the summer because my desktop computer is old and the browser no longer supports this forum, so I am having to use the phone.

A question - who runs the Sunshine Coast webserver? For some reason I appear to be blocked from using it. A shame because it’s an interesting one for FM DX.

Thanks.

Nick, it’s likely you a using a VPN then. Switch off your VPN & you should be okay. The webservers were being abused & VPN’s are blocked on most of the webservers.

Was nice when I looked at it. But is offline again..

Thanks ozbark. I’m using Firefox which doesn’t have a VPN. Very odd.

Anyway, whatever the problem was, it’s been fixed as I can now connect.

The ‘Brisbane’ TEF webserver has a fault with the ‘Spectrum’ Plug-In.

It is not allowing a spectrum scan refresh.

fixed. (until the IP address changes again).

That’s probably my server. I notice it’s forgetting the previous spectrum scan. When I refresh the scan it works for me. I updated it a day or two ago, I’ll try again.

PS:
It also fails if it’s been left on the AM/SW bands. You have to manually change it back to FM band.

I notice there’s sporadic E reported for Brisbane in the space weather MUF:

So I checked my logs, and there’s a new station heard from New Caledonia! Apparently.

My newest log is here:

Anyone else see anything?

Bribie off again. Had NBN upgrade to fiber but they’ve put me on a plan using CGNAT. I’ll be ringing them tomorrow to get it sorted.

What was their solution?

I notice a new plugin Ban-Sync database this may help with some issues of annoying logins I have installed it on my,servers and seems to be updating in the logs so working .

This plugin for the FM-DX Webserver provides a community-updated ban sync to remove troublesome users from your TEF servers. Everything is still entirely a work in progress, but I need more people to help with testing and more ban data to progress further with the plugin.

Credit to Discord for information below.

Installation instructions can be found inside of the INSTALL.md file and the README.md file provides information on exactly how to contribute ban data for people who are unfamiliar.

You can use the export ban data button within the Setup > User Management section of the Web UI in order to copy all local bans (you will have to manually sync the server sided bans to the plugin and fill in as many fields as you can into the actual plugin’s local ban system).

People are recommended to reach out to me via Discord in this thread (no dms or emails) with any issues or make a Github issue.

Make pull requests on the github to contribute IP addresses following the instructions within the README.md file in the database branch of the project.

Hope this helps to eliminate troublesome users from your TEF servers.

I am pleased to announce that my second web server is now up and running for testing. It is listed in the directory (servers.fmdx.org) and is called NNODE Radio 2. No AM on it yet but in the future it will be connected. Main FM is just using an old wideband analogue TV antenna which has band II support.

I also note 2Day’s PS is back to 2DayFM:

And traffic messages on Hit 106.9:
