First Dates

Maybe manu as restaurant host

It’s quite different to most other reality shows, and that it’s different people every week is a big point of difference for me.

The twist is these people have been stuck in lockdown and now can’t socialize face to face anymore

This will be better I think than the Julia Morris one called Blind Date.

Looking directly into the sun would be better than Blind Date with Julia Morris.

This is due in early 2022 according to TV Tonight.

Could be a good series to air on Thursday nights in between Gogglebox seasons through the year?

Seems like the kind of show that could sustain being filmed in one go and then split up into 2-3 runs across the year.

Will this mean 10 will have replay rights to the Seven series?

Don’t think so. It was announced at 7’s upfronts last week for 7Flix.

Interesting the promos they played were from previous 7 series.
I really hope they invest in good personality maître d, wait and bar staff….having them as regulars in the British series makes it feel more familiar each week

Those positions are being casted now, I saw a post on the Warner Bros site looking for them.

McGarvey also said in an interview today that they hadn’t made a decision on the voiceover but it was very important, also that “it’s one hour, once a week, it’s kinda down the back of the week”.

First promo aired tonight during the premiere of Australian Survivor: Blood v Water.

I wonder why 10 didn’t use the logo with the heart inside the zero? Is it reserved for The Bachelor franchise?

The beginning had a sort of Bachelor vibe, it put me off straight away but it got better.

Interesting the use of the 10 / 10 play logo, don’t think they’ve got the promotion of their BVOD service down pat (or consistent) but it’s better than nothing.

This should be Thursdays 7:30 at least while Survivor / Ambulance is on.

I would prefer it to be at 8.30 to allow for the content to be a bit more “suggestive”. I think it would need to be toned down to suit 7.30.

Realistically Thursday is the only night when the show can be shown at 8.30, depending on the scheduling of the new season of Gogglebox.
You don’t want to put it on the same night as Married at First Sight.

Will It Be Love At First Sight?

First Dates Australia. Coming Soon To 10 And 10 Play On Demand.

Cupid’s arrow is making its way to 10, when an all-new First Dates restaurant swings open its doors to a new batch of singletons, in the hope of being served the love of their lives.

First Dates Australia is the heart-warming, heart-breaking and occasionally heart-stopping fly-on-the-wall dating series, that takes viewers inside the intimate world of genuine first dates. From first impressions and flirty smiles to awkward, heart-warming, and funny moments, our hidden cameras capture every magical moment in the quest for a compatible match.

As well as eavesdropping on the daters - whether they’re eating or re-applying their lipstick – we also feature the sharp and witty opinions of the restaurant Maître D’ Giacomo, and staff, James, Luka and Ama.

Each date ends with a trip to the First Dates booth, where each couple reveals what they really thought, and we discover if true love has blossomed. Was it successful? Did they connect? Is a second date on the cards?

With five first dates each episode, these could be the latest love stories in the making.

10’s Head of Programming Daniel Monaghan has told TV Tonight a bit more about the new season.

We have a new setting, a new restaurant that looks entirely different. It’s a lot more urban in its flavour, shot in inner Western Sydney. Warner Bros. did a phenomenal job of casting the show for actual success, rather than just for laughs. We’ve got quite a number of people who are still dating, which is what we wanted from the end of the series.
