I’m assuming 1 of the 3 non Aus R16 games could be the potential opponent for the Matilda’s quarter final (if they win R16 match)
My fetch shows a Live match Sunday 7:30pm on 7mate which I assume will be Sweden v USA.
And Tuesday 9pm on 7mate which I think is France v Group H 2nd
Not opting for main channel?
Japan and Norway? Norway that will pull viewers so yes, multi it is.
Saturday is the AFL, Sunday is the new season of the Voice, Monday its main channel. I think the Saturday & Sunday are justified but Tuesday 9pm should be main channel (pre game on 7mate), especially since it would be after the voice.
Will be interesting what they do with the quarter finals. Friday 12pm, 5:30pm & Saturday 5:30pm & 8:30pm. 7 will show 2 matches.
I’m going to assume that they will probably air the 2 Saturday games since I don’t see them doing the 12pm game
If the Matilda’s make it their game is 5:30pm Saturday & 7 will have to put it on the main channel which means news has to be earlier than 5:30 start time & AFL (Carlton v Melbourne) will have to be 7mate.
Wouldn’t some markets just be Border and movie re-runs though?
After tonight’s results (see the other thread), Jamaica will play Colombia and France will face Morocco in the round of 16. If the schedule doesn’t change, France v Morocco will be 7mate’s broadcast match next Tuesday night.
Standby for the outcry on social media about the “7Two SD”, couldnt they promote “HD via 7Plus stream” or something
Seven announces Round of 16 schedule
The Matildas to take centre stage on Monday night
After a thrilling group stage, which saw the Matildas soar to the top of Group B, the Seven Network’s broadcast schedule for the highly anticipated FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023™ Round of 16 has been confirmed.

• Tuesday, 8 August: France v Morocco, Hindmarsh Stadium
Following the Round of 16, Seven will be there for the Quarter-Finals, Semi-Finals, the Final and every Matildas game – broadcast live and free across Seven and 7plus.
Isn’t it HD in most of QLD anyway?
In regional areas
It’s only 7two in QLD and that’s because of the AFL both Saturday & Sunday.
(The article was written for the ABC by Losirene Lacanivalu, an online editor at Cook Island News, who is one of the 20 journalists taking part in the program)
Has there been any reference on-air or publicity or social media to Adam Peacock returning to Seven Sydney, where he broke out 20 years ago before Fox Sports (1998 - 2006), not just Seven News sport, but also on Seven Sport telecasts such as Australian Opens (IIRC news update presenter alongside Kylie Gillies and Pete Coloquhoun) and I think Sydney 2000 & Athens 2004 Olympics, Rugby World Cup 2003, Manchester 2002, as well as RU/Bledisloe Cups, Davis Cups and Melbourne Cups.

The guy who pioneered streaming / BVOD at Seven, starting with the “7Tennis” app for all Australian Open courts which was a huge success, I think 2015? Then Melbourne Cup, Olympics, and so on including the current overhaul/era of 7Plus. Didn’t realise he was still with Optus, must be doing good things there too. Probably makes liaising between birh companies breezier too.
