FAST (General News)

Speculation and surprise it’s still around, but that’s just MediaSpy for you.

No confirmation about its demise at all.

It’s still on Fetch but no sign of the other 5 ticker channels that they’ve been promoting (finance, lifestyle, food etc).

ABC has them too in major cities.

All of those except ABC News and Sky News are very little watched in Australia.

Seven and Nine need to start growing their new audiences and preparing for the migration over to streaming.

CNN Max’s audience is about 15 years younger than CNN’s audience.

They need to be teaching the next generation of news audiences who are not on FTA.

Also new ad revenue

Just to nitpick - CNN Max is essentially CNN International with a different logo in the corner. (I know you know this but not everyone here will) The output was being made anyway - WBD just decided to repackage it for Max.

Yep - same content - but reaching a whole new audience who does not watch traditional distribution tv - and a much younger one

Yeah and no. For the most part it’s a CNN International simulcast but it does breakaway occasionally for either programming exclusive to CNN Max or (on weekends) to show programs from CNN’s originals library.

Yeh. It’s really annoying now when we’re not getting the CNN-US coverage of the Trump Trial. I find myself watching clips on YouTube instead.

Just get Fetch. You can get the Knowledge pack for $6 per month and it includes 19 channels including CNN and MSNBC. Mostly all they talk about is the Trump trials. This will be the main focus right up until the November election I’d say.

The Pick brand is reused by Sky to launch Xumo Play in the UK, as a FAST channel dedicated to supernatural programmes. It will be launched alongside 3 Sky Sports channels, an Artist of the Year channel, and a civil service drama channel.

Their trademark application, per Pres Cafe, looks like this:

These would be good for Fetch if they could bring them to Australia.

Titles from Cineverse’s portfolio of free, ad-supported streaming television (FAST) channels now available via video on Spotify include Dog Whisperer with Cesar Millan, Land of the Lost, Entrepreneur Elevator Pitch, The FBI Files and comedy specials from Jeff Dunham, Jim Gaffigan, Eddie Griffin, Tiffany Hadish, Kathleen Madigan and Gary Owen, and more

I don’t know if this has been mentioned yet, nor exactly when this happened, but Pluto TV has launched in Australia, as part of 10Play.

A bit late. It launched months ago.

Don’t believe there’s a thread for Samsung TV Plus, so let me start one.
(Mods can always remove the thread if they feel no need for this to exsist)

Noticed the channels Samsung TV Plus Australia has is FAST channels from 10play?
Deal struck between 10/Paramount and Samsung?
