But it’s hard for little independent Kiwi operators like Burger Bunker to compete against the high flying yanks and their DC3s.
I was up in the Gold Coast just over a week ago and got to try Wendy’s. We went around 6.30pm on a Wednesday night. We were able to order at the screens immediately but then we figured out there were 20 or so orders ahead of us which resulted in a 25 minute wait. So busy but not extremely busy. In the time we were waiting though the store got a lot busier and queues started to form at the ordering screens as it got closer to 7pm.
Food wise it was ok. I got the Baconator and added lettuce and tomato to at least have something a bit healthy in there. It tasted good. The chips were fine. Would I go back and wait 25 mins again for an order? Probably not but if one popped up in Melbourne and it wasn’t busy I’d go again.
I went down Saturday night. got there at around 9:15 (they close at 10:00) and it took about 30 mins to get my food.
I got a mini baconator meal and the Chili. ended up taking the chili home and eating it for lunch on Sunday. Had some cold chili on toast and also dipped it with corn chips. it was quite nice that way
Out of all the things in New Zealand we could see that was the only thing my son wanted to go to. It rained that day but it was pretty impressive and he loved it!
Someone on here said a Melbourne store was opening soon.
yeah the rumours are they are taking over the old carls jr store in dandenong south
Manor Lakes is the bigger rumour atm.
I just had Chick-fil-A (US burger chain) for lunch whilst here in Hawaii (en route to Vegas for the NRL games this Sunday).
Had the Grilled Chicken Club Sandwich meal (comes with Waffle Fries). It was nice enough, not the best I’ve had, but not the worst either.
Donald Trump won’t be happy that they made Colonel Sanders look Mexican.
Today marks the launch of the McDonald’s AFL-themed happy meals and apparently, it is also available in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory and Queensland and Here I am thinking, McDonald’s should also do NRL-themed happy meals only for those markets.
i’m in Qld and saw them here
I don’t think maccas sponsor the NRL - at least not as much as they do the AFL
McDonald’s is a secondary sponsor of several NRL teams, and last year one of its ads featured NRL players and coaches with commentary by Ray Warren.
It was announced today that Maccas would be the new naming sponsor for Fox League’s Sunday Ticket telecast, with hostings across Sunday Nights with Matty Johns programming.
The Ad Standards panel has ruled the Uber Eats campaign featuring Andy Murray, shown during Nine’s Australian Open coverage last month, as being against prevailing community standards on health and safety.
As US cult burger chain Five Guys opens its third outlet in Sydney on Monday, March 10 at Martin Place’s slick new metro interchange, the big question is: will it still draw the crowds?
Five Guys first came to Australia in 2021, opening in Penrith before adding an outlet on Sydney’s George Street and expanding to Victoria.
Operators of the franchise think the crowds will come, and are banking on its location next to the escalators near the Castlereagh entrance to the metro, to get more people in and out. Five Guys head of operations for Australia, Phil Keelan, says the location was partially informed by Five Guys’ Italian expansion, which links into train stations and leverages commuters’ tendency to purchase before they jump on a train rather than off.
Residents on Sydney’s Northern Beaches are up in arms after fast food giant McDonald’s lodged a development proposal for a new 24-hour restaurant.
The proposal, filed this month for a McDonald’s restaurant at 37 Rosebery Street in Balgowlah, would include a drive-thru and car park. The cost of demolition and construction of the restaurant is listed as $3.9 million.
Submissions to the development application close on March 13.
Seriously. Its 2025.
