Reflects what most of the audience was doing.
Season 1 premieres on CASA on March 25, 2019. CASA is a French-language cable TV channel in Canada, so the show will be retitled Face-Ă -face familial and all dialogues dubbed into French.
Fancy a below-average show getting productions overseas.
Taken Out has had many more adaptations and came full circle with another Aussie below average adaptation known as Take Me Out.
It is actually a pretty decent format. Its great that Australian shows are being adapted overseas. It just wasnât for the Australian market.
Itâs all well and good to say that itâs great that a multinational TV production company like Endemol Shine has been able to successfully sell a format overseas which started in Australia.
But what benefits (if any) do Nine get out of it? Like all commercial TV networks in this country, they need to air content which will be of interest to a mainstream Australian audience. Remembering that the ratings dipped below 400k for some episodes last year, I think they need better programming to end their year than Family Food Fight.
Does it need to be great if nine donât benefit? Itâs great for the production companies as well.
As long as Endemol Shine is happy with its sales, I agree that it will continue even if Nine doesnât benefit.
If FFF was a Nine in-house production and was sold overseas, then Nine would probably be ecstatic.
Exactly, that is the cost of doing these shows out of house rather than in-house like Seven does a fair bit. Seven gets the benefits e.g: MKR.
The US version will debut on ABC on June 20.
Not surprising. It never sizzled and they butchered it last year.
Yeah, Family Food Fight never rated that well for Nine.
The American version started last week and features families of three.
