Family Feud

Family Feud is coming back

Name Something That Grant Denyer Is Asked 37 Times A Day.

Top Answer: When Will Family Feud Be Back On 10?

The Logie Award winning show, Family Feud, together with the 2018 Gold Logie Award winning host, Grant Denyer, will return to 10 this year for a special prime time television event.

While Australia’s favourite game show has enjoyed a rejuvenating “rest”, our frontline workers have spent the last few months showing 2020 who’s boss.

From July, Network 10 and Fremantle will commence production on a special 10 episode series featuring these very people.

From devastating bushfires to a global pandemic, Australians have taken a battering, so what better way to show our appreciation to our heroic frontline workers than by asking them: “Name the first thing you would do if you won $100,000?”

Which may actually come in handy, because Network 10 is giving these very special families a chance to win up to $100,000.

Grant Denyer said: “The Feud’s back baby! I can’t wait to run amok with more nervous and excited Australian families, to have lots of laughs, forget our troubles and have a damn good time giving away record amounts of cash.

"It’s the same great game show, for an even greater cause - celebrating the families and workers on the frontline of COVID-19. Bring it on!”

Family Feud is made up of great Aussie families, from all walks of life, trying their darnedest to work out just what 100 Australians are thinking.

Asking someone to guess how other people answered a question is bound to go to some absurd places. Combined with the fact they have little potential to censor the first thing that comes out of their mouths, the razzle-dazzle of the lights and cameras and Grant Denyer staring expectantly up at them, you have a recipe for a meme destined to go viral.

Chris Oliver-Taylor, CEO Fremantle Asia-Pacific and Jonathon Summerhayes, Fremantle’s Director of Unscripted, said: “We are delighted that even during these unprecedented times our team have been able to work with TEN to relaunch one of our most successful and much-loved formats globally. For many viewers, it’s like welcoming home an old friend and for some, the beginning of a long friendship – and we are thrilled to have Grant at the helm again, he is the master.”

Applications are now open. If you are a doctor, nurse, paramedic, fire fighter, teacher and more, then assemble your team of four, gently tell Uncle Bruce that he didn’t make the cut, and head to the link here Watch full episodes of TV shows for free on 10 play - Network Ten

Not surprised by this, an easy show for 10 to get back into production to fill some programming gaps. If I remember correctly, they always kept the door open for more FF after it was replaced by Pointless with some creative wording about how it hadn’t been axed. Wonder what other sets they have stored at Pyrmont - Pointless anyone? Lol

Not a bad idea having it back for a short-run series. Think it’s fair to assume that this will be at 7.30pm on one of the weeknights.

Obviously Grant is also on the payroll so this will keep him occupied (he has only done DWTS this year right?).

LOL

Nice to see 10 bringing back Family Feud as a token of gesture for frontline workers.

Good stuff!

Glad it is returning. Loved watching it when it was at 6pm.

As a series of one off prime time specials this is fine. They better not get any ideas of bringing it back to weeknights. It gets too stale and the host is too off putting for most people.

I agree, fine as a batch of one-off primetime specials but I wouldn’t really care to see a full blown revival.

Although knowing what Ten are like, it wouldn’t overly surprise me if they actually are considering bringing Family Feud back to 6pm weeknights once the pandemic is over!

Grant may not want to be on that train again for too long in any case.

Brilliant idea 10. A very easy production to put together through this current Coved-19 environment. Family Feud and Junior Masterchief should help fill the void left by productions not being able o go ahead.

I don’t think so. News is doing well at 6pm. Plus its very cost efficient and its providing a better lead in to The Project. The Project is up almost 50% across the hour. The 5pm-7.30pm flow hasn’t been this good in years.

How’s the weather down there?

As a number of primetime specials - I don’t mind the show coming back. But I think that’s all it should be at this stage… just specials.

One-hour specials for mid-week (Thursdays?), and should they film 30-minute editions for perhaps as Saturday night fillers? Or am asking for too much? lol

Maybe they should put it on fridays and try the living room on another night where it’s not up against a carbon copy show ?!?!

Not a great idea. Living Room holds their audience on Fridays and rates very well. Family Feud would work on Monday or Tuesday 7.30 later in the year.

Are you referring to Better Homes and Gardens? They’re both in the lifestyle genre sure but they’re different enough (one skews older, the other younger, no need to say which one is which).

Not to mention that shows like The Living Room, Better Homes and Gardening Australia probably work best on Friday nights when people are looking for weekend ideas.

…or even on Thursdays during “Gogglebox off-season(s)”?

I missed this yesterday I think this is another clever move my 10 to fill in some of the holes left my Survivor. I agree with others that this can only be a number of specials rather than a revival.

Have they forgotten the ratings for this show? The 7:30pm airings failed and the 6pm version only rated when it was simulcast on 3 channels.
This proves that the cupboard really is bare if they are forced to bring this back.

Family Feud’s ratings weren’t good. So maybe Sunday to Thursday is out of the option? And air it on Fridays or Saturdays?

To be honest, I didn’t mind the “celebrity versions” of the show, but the normal family version specials? I don’t know… I know they will film a few episodes of emergency workers as specials which would be great… but not 10 episodes of them…

Everybody’s cupboard is bare because they can’t produce a lot of the shows that were planned.
