Did Sam and Julia commentate on this morning’s semi-final?
Justin Timberlake will perform his latest single Can’t Stop the Feeling on Saturday’s final, coinciding with the event’s first live broadcast into the US.
Yep, Sam and Julia were providing commentary. A few timing issues when it came to returning from breaks, but was a smooth broadcast overall.
I really don’t like this idea. Having an already world wide superstar on Eurovision is not what the competition is really about. I know the song was written by someone from Sweden which is apparently another reason why… but please never let this competition become Americanised!!
(POTENTIAL SPOILER ALERT)

Dobbed in by the Azerbaijanis. Totally unsurprising given the political climate there, but valid given that rules exist to avoid that as much as possible[/details]
Well I made sure I was up at 5am this morning to watch the second semi final live. Dami was definitely a standout and I think she could finish top 5. Only thing is there were a couple of technical glitches during her performance, where she was moving stuff on the screen but they didn’t move along with her hands. IF they can perfect that for the finale I think she will do well.
Potential Spoiler Alert
It’s amazing that Dami got through despite the obvious bloc voting! Very proud of her performance. Looking forward to the final!
Potential spoiler alert
Dami will be the 13th performer (out of 26) on Saturday's final. The live telecast should rate well. These comments about Dami Im are not spoilers since the show has already screened this morning and the outcome reported all over the media already. The repeat does not screen until Saturday night.
Well, there are still people who get angry about this, despite the media exposure, because they’re waiting for Saturday night. Just erring on the side of caution, that’s all.
I agree. If people wanted to avoid Eurovision spoilers they would not be reading a Eurovision thread knowing it’s aired, or would’ve watched the 5am telecast. It’s also almost impossible to avoid the media talk about Dami.
It’s surely not as bad as allowing Australia to take part?
What about Morocco and Israel.
At least they share a hemisphere.
With nearly 200 million viewers, NEP is honored to play our part in the production of the the Eurovision Song Contest (last night was the first of the semifinals) in Stockholm, Sweden. NEP Sweden is providing TV production, backup production, EBU switch, wireless cameras, and signal distribution and communication for the event. NEP’s Mediatec Solutions is providing all of the screens and projectors for the event as well.
But we share a planet.
“Come Together”
I got to admit, I’m amazed with the technical aspects of Eurovision. The lighting and the camera work - no matter how cheesy.
Best wishes for Dami,I hope she goes well, don’t expect her to win though
