ESPN

Think it’s on both networks

Bit stupid how they’re able to have double coverage on the sidelines for these playoff games (in today’s case, Matt Russel and Cam Tragardh were in Cairns, Trigger has been the regular for Cairns games all season), yet they still have 3 game callers (in today’s case, John Casey, Shane Heal and Homicide Williams) stuck in the studio thousands of kilometres away. Been the major negative about the coverage (and the league to be truthful) all season, but I would have thought for a playoff game they would have changed their approach.

ESPN will show game 6 of 1998 NBA Finals between Chicago Bulls and Utah Jazz in HD.

ESPN is showing AFL matches in the US for the fourth time.

Australian rules football was a staple in ESPN’s early years, when the network was unable to secure rights to major American leagues. The network aired Aussie rules games from 1979 to 1985, with the league gaining a cultlike following in the U.S. ESPN2 also broadcast the AFL from 1996-97 and 2010-11.

Per AFANA, 6 out of the 9 games in Round 3 will be broadcast on US TV; three on FS1, one on FS2, and two on ESPN2:

Interesting to see that there’s no game on ESPN3 this week - there was a game last Sunday that was meant to be on there but there was a communication error internally at Bristol so it wasn’t shown on the service. Would also seem that they are showing the Seven-produced games, obviously to avoid any Fox branding being mentioned.

FA Cup live coverage returns to ESPN this weekend after a three-month break due to COVID-19 pandemic in UK. ESPN will show all quarter-finals live.

It’s not ESPN or SBS’s coverage, its the NBL produced feed.

Looks like ESPN is producing a version of Sportscenter for Fox Sports Asia which airs weeknights at 7:30 & 10:30pm using the same host as Sportscenter Australia. This promo looks well polished and they have a dedicated time slot unlike ESPN Australia which airs a couple of times per week before NBA/NFL games and is mainly confined to covering American sports. It does not seem much different to Sportscenter Australia of a few years back, with Fox Sports News cutting on cost would not be bad to air this before ESPN FC as a alternative
