ESPN AU/NZ

A bit of CBS stuff slipping through today, including a promo for Blue Bloods before.
We also got the halftime Paramount/UFC tease with Dana White - which obviously is unavoidable when you’re taking the halftime show but still interesting.

My theory is that it has something to do with the DAZN Game Pass deal- given how much they tout the ‘authentic US broadcast’ as being a selling point I suspect that the substandard World Feed is designed to provide a point of difference and encourage frustrated fans to sign up with DAZN.

Although if the main broadcaster pays enough for exclusive rights, this could be overridden.

Like Sky Sports in the UK.

I suspect you’re right. But I wish DAZN would provide the promised authentic US broadcast instead of shoving their own commercials in various breaks. I swear I’m getting even more inserted commercials since paying the extra few dollars to upgrade to pro for the (buggy) multiview function.

ESPN did showed Post Malone’s halftime performance, under the CBS feed.

The same applies for all of the game’s highlights on social media.

The next matchup’s coverage starts 12.15pm AEDT. So we’ll be world-feeding the whole tripleheader then?

Coulda crash back to the NBC pregame feed after the conclusion of this one.

ESPN had CBS postgame.

This weeks NBC/Peacock games on ESPN AU was all the national tv feed and not any local feeds. So looks like all the problems they had before seems to have been fixed.

The peacock situation could be due to the restarting of NBCSN :man_shrugging:

Issues with the FIBA match in NZ. The end of the match (last 3.5mins) were not shown. NZ was leading 75 to 70

FYI: end result was a buzzer beater. AU 79 v NZ 77

The highlights they uploaded on YouTube is the world feed and not the commentary they had for the actual broadcast with the previous NZ based nbl commentary team.

I wonder if they actually don’t have the end of that broadcast

World Feed didn’t even know the player names

UFC coverage on ESPN has officially ended with Royval vs Kape as their final fight of the year, and in the ESPN era.

It moves to Paramount+ next month.

Any acknowledgement on air?

They did some goodbyes, and a farewell package aired at the end.

New type of altcast to be available on D+.

After 2 months of NBC or :peacock: nba games being the actual national tv feed, for some reason they have gone back to showing the local feed if that’s available. Last week it was fine. But today’s game is the local Boston feed instead of :peacock:

There was 2 NBA games on ABC in America. With the 3rd cancelled due to the ICE shooting. Both were shown on ESPN here

There was also an another game on ESPN App only. Which was done as a contingency in case the last game didn’t happen due to Snow storms.

but the Celtics @ Bull game which was on ESPN APP doesn’t have any broadcast on nba app, or nba highlights or even the espn on nba highlights.

Was the ESPN APP only game feature on Disney+ here?

ESPN/ABC will kick off their Super Bowl LXI campaign early when Seahawks-Patriots wrap up at Santa Clara.

It’s a one-off 24-hour programming event dubbed “The Handoff”, and it will start at Sunday February 8th at 11:30pm EST on ESPN/ABC/ESPN App following their postgame show live from Levi’s Stadium. It will begin with Scott Van Pelt hosting SC live from SoFi, the stadium that will host next year’s Super Bowl.

“The Handoff” will feature live shows not only from SoFi, but from Disneyland Park with the Super Bowl Parade (the winning team from SBLX); First Take, SC editions, and NFL Live.

ABC’s Good Morning America will be live from Levi’s Stadium day after the Super Bowl, and Tuesday will interview a player either the Seahawks or Patriots as the winning team. “World News Tonight” will feature content from the broadcast.

No plans if this will be aired on ESPN AU/NZ but will be a interesting event to kickstart their road to Super Bowl LXI. A first for ESPN on cable, and a two decade wait for ABC.
