Drunk History Australia

How was tonight’s episode? Funny? Worth watching?

Worked pretty well after HYBPA. Nothing spectacular but always nice to see local comedy.

Dame Nellie Melba’s segment (with Susie Youssef as Melba) was funny. Burke and Wills, not so much.
Interesting to see Yvie Jones as Madame Marchesi in the Melba story.

Alex Nation from The Bachelor and Bachelor in Paradise plays 1926 Miss Australia winner Beryl Mills in tonight’s episode 2.

Monday 5 October -
Tex Perkins play “Banjo” Paterson in the segment about his creation of Waltzing Matilda and Erin McNaught plays Dawn Fraser in the story about the swimmer’s behaviour in the 1964 Tokyo Olympics that led to her suspended by ten years by the Australian Swimming Union.

The season finale tonight was actually episode 5. Les Hill (Jason Moran in Underbelly) played Sydney hotelier and nightclub owner Abe Saffron in the first story. In the second story, Grant Denyer portrayed Captain Thunderbolt and Natasha Wanganeen played Mary Ann Bugg, Australia’s first Indigenous bushranger.
