Doctor Who

I actually enjoy bits of the new version of the War Games (the Quick Transference Jump scene in Ep. 10 is now actually exciting and dramatic).

In said scene they’ve added a small bit with the Doctor slamming several levers down on the TARDIS console (with a required “fake Shemp” for the long-dead Patrick Troughton).

Inside sources claim that the BBC programme, which has thrilled audiences for a whopping 62 years, has been receiving backlash for its recent storylines, since Ncuti Gatwa stepped in during 2023.

Star of the show Ncuti is also said to have already jumped ship, planning to swap the UK for sunny California as he gears up for a slew of new acting gigs in Los Angeles.

Doctor Who is facing the axe, with star Ncuti Gatwa poised to quit and crew reportedly set to be laid off.

The recent series suffered abysmal ratings with fans outraged by the BBC shoehorning ‘wokery’ into storylines.

Bosses have postponed any decision until Ncuti’s second season has aired later this year.

But the Scot, 32, is already believed to have filmed his regeneration exit scene — and crew fear the BBC will shelve the show after 62 years.

The BBC have denied that the show is being shelved but have not commented on Ncuti’s future with the show.

Yeah. Those reports are rubbish. The BBC is officially saying that they have a two season contract with Disney. They would make a decision after the second season airs.

The rumours have been denied, however, with a BBC spokesperson confirming to RadioTimes that the broadcaster wouldn’t make any decision on future seasons until the next one had aired, saying: “This story is incorrect - Doctor Who has not been shelved.

“As we have previously stated, the decision on season three will be made after season two airs. The deal with Disney+ was for 26 episodes - and exactly half of those still have to transmit. As for the rest, we never comment on the Doctor and future storylines.”

I do hope we get a third season with Ncuti, keeping with the 3-series tradition of most Doctors

I’m probably an outlier on this, but I think it would be to have someone in the role past 3.

Allow more time for character development.
By the time you introduce the Doctor, and usually it’s a reset on the companions, you’ve lost half a series where they’re still establishing their characters and dynamic.
