The Giggle was a brilliant episode. One of the best episodes in years. So great having Russell T Davies creating these amazing storylines again.
Enjoyed it as a tribute to the 60th anniversary and all the throwbacks. Quite an unexpected twist with the regeneration of the new Doctor and always good to push the boundaries of what is possible. Beautiful ending and good cliffhangers, including the tease of a return of The Master.
Youâd think a new version of the sonic screwdriver would have less buttons and be voice responsiveâŚlike my new minimalist TV remote control that weâve discussed in Tech Talk.
Ncuti Gatwa is already shaping up to be one of the best versions of The Doctors in Doctor Who history and theyâve created a great companion in Ruby Sunday with a good back story. Great Christmas special. Also liked the supporting characters.
The only thing I didnât like was right at the end with Mrs Flood breaking the fourth wall. I didnât like her looking straight down the camera to talk to the audience. Also, a bit too commercialised running a promo for the new season before screening the final scene
Ruby is going to be Clara 2.0 and Iâm all for it.
Ncuti, Millie and the visual effects were the only positives I have for this special though, the story and supporting cast were just bad.
Wonderful seeing Louise Jameson again.
Despite Tom Bakerâs loss of weight he has still maintained his wonderful captivating voice in all its richness. May The Doctor live forever.
Thanks for the posting
Not if she will still feature in the second season as the article suggests. But itâs a full-on job and not for everyone. Or maybe they had already run out of storyline ideas for the character and decided to do something new next season.
The BBC has announced the first two episodes of the new season featuring Ncuti Gatwa will be released on iPlayer, on May 11 at midnight UK time. They will then be shown on BBC One before the Eurovision Song Contest grand final live from Malmo.
The episodes will also drop on Disney+ around the world at the same time (9am AEST in Australia on Saturdays).
With the new version of the logo plus the new vortex effect used in posters and promos, I wonder if Ncuti will be getting a new title sequence for his first full series?
