Maybe its just me, but I feel there is still a huge place in the market for subscription linear television - whether that delivery is via traditional methods (ie Foxtel, Sky), or via the streaming providers - I think the volume and selection of streaming content on each platform can make it overwhelming at times to ‘just find something to watch’ at the end of the day.

I mean the coverage in the Murdoch papers for the 2013 election was hardly down the middle and very one-sided for the man who is about to end up on the FOX board.

Sad to see such a once vibrant film studio go. I believe the studios and small backlot have been there since 1915.

Reading the article, it sounds like ‘new’ Fox retained this lot, and Disney was just leasing some of it. Nothing says the lot will be bulldozed or anything.
Fox has fielded significant interest from multiple parties, one source familiar with the discussions told Deadline. The space occupied by Disney could be leased to multiple parties over varying terms, as is already the case for the “New York street” on the Fox lot, which hosts music videos and commercials along with films and series.

I believe “How I met your mother” was filmed in that Small New York Street. A lot of television productions are based there. Simpsons and 911.
