Could this affect the collection of the ratings?
Is there a way of doing this manually?
Unfortunately guys I can’t answer those last two questions.
I would imagine if there’s another way to do it Nine would definitely be trying to do it?
It probably won’t affect collection of the ratings, but may skew results if viewers PVR’s are missing recordings?
Yes, it’s hard to see how it would have any impact on the collection of ratings. OzTAM can still tell what programs viewers with their ratings boxes are watching.
But it could negatively impact Nine’s ratings numbers for people using a PVRs. As well as the consolidated ratings it could also affect overnight numbers because they include any viewing of a program during the day. So if a viewer started watching a recording of MAFS at 8.30pm that counts in the overnight numbers.
I suppose eventually, some will work out how to manually program their PVR.
There would have to be a way to manually edit each Tx’s EIT table. Someone could just spend a couple of hours building a basic guide with just start times and titles?
Cisco’s Managing Director, Australia and New Zealand Service Provider Organisation, Karen Negus said, “The Cisco IP infrastructure supports a whole new way of working for Nine …" she wasn’t wrong there ![]()
Looks like somehow it’s been magically fixed!
Both Nine Sydney and NBN’s EPG are showing the correct programs and times.
From when I looked before it looked like TDT had the correct information in the guide, does that mean that the regional stations would have been getting the info from elsewhere and is there a way that could have been used by Nine? Not sure where all these pieces of the puzzle fit in and how easily things can be switched and changed with all the bits and pieces. Great if they have managed to fix it.
Brisbane’s EPG has returned as well.
Amusingly Prime7 and 7 are out of sync after 7pm.
That’s pretty common for them…
Even Nine and NBN are sometimes out of sync, but by only a few minutes at the most.
As for WIN and 10, not sure, but it’s not as obvious when they are out of sync as they are not on adjacent LCNs.
Not Seven metro, always bang on to the minute or second as scheduled, outside live/sport programming. Up there with the ABC for reliability.
But on the flip side, as seen during post game late on Thursday-Saturday nights, can be 30min+ out.
I meant 7 vs Prime7 in terms of alignment with their EPG schedules.
But I agree that 7 is the more accurate of the two.
Same with online guides. Regional channels seem to have to-the-minute accuracy, while the metros are usually rounded to the nearest 5 or 10 minutes.
Ah, got cha ![]()
Yeah. And I notice on, at least eBroadcast (my favourite guide which I’ve followed for years) 9HD is listed separately and seems to follow EPG times, to the minute. Whereas 9SD is rounded, as per promos and most guides. It’s weird.
Looks like the Nine EPG is going to be an ongoing problem. The uploaded schedule currently only goes to 6am Sunday. Perhaps someone is uploading the data manually.
I thought the funeral coverage tonight would be an opportunity to compare bit rates while the same images were on screen.
Vision bit rates only
7 2.14
70 3.78
9 3.08
90 2.79
1 4.85
10 3.67
2 3.42
20 4.28
9 SD has a higher bitrate than 9HD? or are the channels switched?
At that time 9 SD had a higher bit rate than 9 HD
I’m noticing issues on WIN HD WA which looks to originate at playout as commercials are affected as well as regular 10 programming.
The left 100 or so pixels are shifted down slightly. It’s especially noticeable on horizontal graphics. It tears up anything on that side of the screen. Has anyone seen anything like this before?
