QLD is generally behind the times as it is lol. And that’s coming from a Queenslander.
Perth/WA seems to be behind QLD in general terms, not just for TV or radio.
Talking to someone in Perth yesterday they described WA as Wait Awhile
IMHO 7Flix should be the one in HD.
Have they changed the name from Racing.com?
I wondered that too, but still looks to be Racing.com on LCN 78
I assumed that’s just to avoid the free advertising of writing the url channel name.
Yep - I didn’t want to put a URL in the list
Yes, no daylight savings because up north apparently it will fade the curtains and make the cows angry
Interesting test tonight with NRL on 9 and 90, Olympics on 92, 93, 95 and 99 for Sydney and Brisbane.
Nevermind moving water sucking for compression at the best of times.
Nine Brisbane multiplex with 3 sports simultaneously.
9 and 91 | 2.5 |
90 HD | 3.9 |
92 Gem | 1.9 |
93 Go | 2.1 |
94 Life | 1.6 |
95 Gem HD | 2.9 |
96 Rush | 1.7 |
97 Extra | 1.2 |
99 Go HD | 3.4 |
I still find seeing those numbers so strange remembering back to the early days when there were debates and fears when the HD channels were dropping below 10 and SD channels were being starved when they were below about 4 from memory.
Can all channels be HD already? Get rid of SD now!
90 - Channel 9
91 - 9Gem
92 - 9Go
93 - 9Life
94 - 9Rush
Yes back in the early days HD channels were as high as 12 Mbps and SD around 6-7 Mbps. Of course, there were a lot fewer channels and were in MPEG2, which is 50% less efficient.
Easier to write as ‘RDC’ as they internally do.
and make them all MPEG-4.
Not just that but the encoding technology without even moving to MPEG-4 has also improved over time, then you have variable bitrate encoding which again makes the allocation of bits across the multiplex more efficient.
Some problems with the Sunshine Coast/Gympie area TV atm. As noted the ABC FM radio stations are all off air on the Sunshine Coast. But it seems to me that the Gympie TV stations ABC and commercial are all off air. Hard to tell from Brisbane was there are SFNs everywhere.
Currently have no signal on LCN 43 that should be RTQ Gympie. Plus the usual co-channels that Gympie has seem to be free.
Do you mean Dulong or Black Mountain? (since RTQ is UHF 43 at both).
Update - it looks like it is the Nambour relays stations that are off not the SFN Gympie ones! So may relays stations in the area.
