I imagine they would both pick up the Mix 102.3 branding.
Mix 102.3 80s
Mix 102.3 90s
Mix102.3
Itās KIIS90s and Gold80s in Melbourne. Will check out to see whether the playlists have changed significantly (hopefully not).
I remember when it used to be Mix80s and Mix90s (that was a while ago now)!
I think 2014 is when they changed the DAB branding from Mix to Pure Gold (the same year that MIX became KIIS in Sydney).
Would love to see 4KQ 70s on DAB
In Brisbane itās 97.3 80s and 90s
Not enough 80ās on KQ? What do we all think about this?
Mix 102.3 80s
Thanks @xyz223, great to read your Adelaide report.
Would love to see 4KQ 70s on DAB
Agree, please.

They couldāve been smart and gone for TTFM 90s if they really wanted to go for a local feel that matches the decade.
Same with my thoughts on using 2WS or 2UW for the 80s stations in Sydney.
Will check out to see whether the playlists have changed significantly (hopefully not).
Listened to a bit of Gold 80s on the drive home, Dragon - Young Years, Paul Simon - Diamonds on the Soles of her Shoes, Uncanny X Men - Everybody Wants to Work, Dire Straits - Twisting by the Pool. So prettyuch the same Iād say.
James Valentine, who is a jazz musician, made mention of that on his afternoon program yesterday on ABC Radio Sydney.
Not solely jazz, he played saxophone with Aussie rock group The Models in the 1980s, with hits such as āBarbadosā and āOut Of Mind, Out Of Sightā.
Yes, I got it parked in Mosman around lunchtime in Jan and the reverse above 1017. @Karen_Cee , love to read of your reports when you go travelling beyond Brisbane City for digital.
On that, Iāve seen many reports about how well Brisbane DAB+ gets out north and south, but has anyone tried it much heading west? Apologies if it has been discussed here before
Brisbane FM drops off pretty quickly along the Warrego Hwy once youāre past Ipswich and is on-again/off-again all the way to Toowoomba. Along the Cunningham Hwy itās a bit better and lasts most of the way to the range. Iād imagine DAB+ is similar? Is reliable reception possible up the range?
I took the work Outlander down to our Razorback & Picton DTV sites yesterday.
Going down the M7 & Hume motorway DAB+ was pretty stable, odd short dropout after getting South of Campbelltown.
Pretty much as soon as I turned off the Hume motorway & onto Picton Rd, (heading into Picton), there were lots of dropouts with some significant times of no reception, as I got closer to Picton the dropouts got more frequent & longer.
In Picton itself, there was no chance of DAB+ reception, but I could pick it up on top of the hill above Picton township at the DTV site.
Reception was again patchy between Picton & Razorback along Remembrance Drive, but well received again on top of the hill at Razorback.
No DAB+ reception in Picton is not surprising, but Sydney FM is still ok there, & Sydney AM is still like a local station.
I donāt know how far along the Hume, South before Sydney DAB+ totally drops out, but I think I reached the limits, off the motorway.
Illawarra DAB+ from Knights Hill would boom into that area of Sydney, theyāll have to do some serious blocking to the North, to stop any over-spill if DAB+ ever gets off the ground there.
Iād imagine DAB+ is similar? Is reliable reception possible up the range?
DAB is perfect at the Picnic Point/Tobruk Drive lookouts in Toowoomba. I was using just my handheld Sangean DPR-34. I daresay that reception would drop off fairly quickly west of there, though.
@anon71206228, I reckon the southern limit is the big hill between Mittagong and Berrima, just north of Greenhills Road. On a good day you might even get Sydney and Canberra simultaneously. Of course, reception would drop out in places such as Gibbergunyah Creek and around Yerrinbool. In enhanced conditions the Sutton Forest McDonalds (Sallys Corner Road) might be doable.
Iāll get down that way in the next couple of weeks hopefully.
Correct me if Iām wrong on this, but I thought Dig/ABC Jazz had been around for a little longer than ten years. I seem to recall it being on Digital TV as far back as 2008, possibly even 2007 when I first got a set top box.
DIG was launched on 22 November 2002.

I think I read a report here that DAB from both Sydney and Canberra can both be reliably received atop āThe Gibā (2STās 102.9 site near Bowral).
I agree, the big hill near Berrima would be the southern limits, its pretty good on the Hume near Bargo and Yerrinbool too, not surprising given its elevation and line of sight towards Sydney.
The original DiG later morphed into Double J
On a trip down to Bowral recently MMM Country dropped out completely in the Camry at the turn-off to Mittagong off the Hume.It was unlistenable past that point. All FM good until Bowral when 102.9 had to be tuned in.
Also to add that Digital radio reception on Appin Road will cut out when just about to merge on the F6 at Bulli Tops and wont pick up at all after that.
