Digital Radio - Content

Throw in Col Elliott, King Billy Cokebottle, Elliot Goblet, Issac Butterfield, Rodney Dangerfield, Sam Kinison and Johnny Garfield and I’d listen to it. But, as you know, such a thing wouldn’t fly these days because all it takes is just one complaint and it’s all over.

You were closest to the pin, @Moe: SBS KickOff has now turned into SBS Radio 4, a permanent station with temporary formats.

No fixed lane, just great radio. Right now on SBS Radio 4, hear PopLatino: Latin hits, global energy.

He wins a golf ball.

Just bring back the BBC World Service 24/7. They screwed that up by shoving random SBS shows on Radio 3.

I’m guessing Latino Pop until Christmas, and Sound.FM Filipino music, then Euro Pop in April/ May for Eurovision.

Just noticed that SBS Radio 3 and SBS Radio 4 have been added to Canberra DAB. Not sure how long they’ve been on.

I have missed SBS Radio 3 as it mostly runs the BBC World Service. Since ABC RN and Local Radio are lacklustre during the day this provides a great alternative.

DAB+ had such promise until it was nerfed. Should have been 64kbps for talk and 128 for music always… but nah let’s squeeze 50 odd stations on 2 frequencies. No worries m8 sounds good, music station at 32kbps! I’d rather listen to a good quality AM mono signal on a good receiver than some of the DAB+ stations out there.

Led to believe at least one of the ex-KIX Country HPONs have been switched off in recent months too.

Just did a combined BNE/GC scan whilst here in Surfers Paradise.. 125 stations, though some duplicates across ABC. SBS and SCA.

Though I find it daft that you have to scroll to the letter C to get 4BH (as it comes up as Classic Hits 4BH). At least it’s 96kbps and has Song info.

Following the death of Dolly Parton, ABC Country has turned their playlist into back-to-back songs of, or that feature Dolly Parton. Unsure how long it’s running like that for.

The rock Melbourne DAB+ coming Monday.

I would have thought it would come to a halt now that SEN bought MediaWorks and not Nova

Canberra really needs a full time rock station, though I doubt the Morning Rumble will be heard in the Crappital anytime soon (unless it’s an earthquake from the Lake George fault).

But is this going on SEN’s bandwidth? Or Nova’s?

They are also still plugging the Nova App so I guess it’s still on Novas allotment?

Nova Nation and Priceline are on Tapt’s allotment so The Rock could be either be on Tapt’s or SEN’s allotment.

The Rock has a similar format and target market to Bunnings Tradio, so you would think SEN wouldn’t want to carry it on their allotment.

All I’ve seen is that The Rock 2000 starts Monday 31st August at 8am NZST, which is 6am 8am Syd/Melb/Bris, 5:30am 7:30am Adelaide and 4am 6am Perth. (Amended, see posts below.)

Is the rock going to be live or delayed here?

they have been adverting the morning rumble and Jay and Dunc will be live

I worked out the Australian time zone differences for The Rock’s weekday schedule, as listed on Rova, for both winter (wtr) and summer (smr). (Amended to reflect that the NZ schedule is delayed, not live, into Australia.)
