Yeah definitely doesnât seem to be much hype, even the announcement of the Resurrection series seems to have been somewhat buried in the news that Michael C. Hall is returning to both series.
Paramount/Showtime really leveraging a thin idea of extending the series further by utilising existing IP and IMO in this case itâs not really worthy of that.

Paramount+ today revealed the premiere date and new teaser for the highly anticipated prequel Dexter: Original Sin. Currently in production in Los Angeles, the 10-episode drama series chronicles Americaâs favourite serial killer in training and will premiere exclusively on platform from Friday, 13 December.
Set in 1991 Miami, Dexter: Original Sin follows Dexter (Patrick Gibson) as he transitions from student to avenging serial killer. When his bloodthirsty urges canât be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Christian Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcementâs radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.
Dexter: Original Sin also stars Patrick Dempsey, Molly Brown, James Martinez, Christina Milian, Alex Shimizu, Reno Wilson and special guest star, Sarah Michelle Gellar. Michael C. Hall returns to voice the iconic inner monologue in Dexter Morganâs head.
Dexter: Original Sin is executive produced by Clyde Phillips and produced by SHOWTIME Studios and Counterpart Studios. Executive producers also include Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Michael C. Hall (DEXTER , Six Feet Under), Mary Leah Sutton (Resident Evil), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris) and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll), with the series being produced by Robert Lloyd Lewis (The Lincoln Lawyer). Michael Lehmann (Heathers) serves as directing executive producer.
