Deal or No Deal

$500.

It was $1,000 on the Channel 7 version in 2004 and 2005, until they reduced it to $500 in 2006.

It’s been on TV for 2 years now.

But sometimes there was a mega-guess for $2k, $5k or $10k, if the banker was nice that day.

Last year, the original version of the show, Postcode Loterij Miljoenenjacht, celebrate it’s 25th anniversary. The top prize of the special episode was 10 million euros.

Also during the Quiz Round for the audiences, there’s 1 question that caught my eyes, the question was: “How old was contestant Peggy Tucker when she appeared on the Australian version of ‘Deal or No Deal’ last month?” (original airdate was 13 April 2025)

What’s this new gimmick “the wheel”?

Good pickup.

The wheel spinning brought about the demise of The Chase “Come in for a not so random spin”, now it’s being replaced. Deal was probably shocked to even be renewed and has now gone down this path. poor producing

“The Deal or No Deal Wheel is coming”

I’d rather them produce a new Australian series of Wheel than this shite.

Gimmicks like this almost never work, viewers see right past it.

Assuming this replaces The Siren then?

Could it be another attempt to revive interest in Wheel Of Fortune after the lacklustre effort with Graham Norton.

If I was looking at bringing back Wheel Of Fortune it would be a 5 night a week program with at least 190 episodes produced per season.

I would change Deal Or No Deal to a 1 hour scheduling on Saturday night, probably just 2 new episodes back to back for the majority of its run with at least 100 episodes produced.

The Wheel idea is not necessarily the “right “ idea for this program, perhaps its just an attempt to draw attention to itself

Probably a replacement for the that buzzer thing they used a few times and never seen again.
