Dancing with the Stars

So it’s been a thing since 2005 huh?
I guess they milk it for all its worth.

They only stopped doing it when ratings started to drop so they didn’t want to burn it out as fast.

Sonia has told TV Tonight that filming for the next season is planned for September.

Didn’t Seven say not having an audience for AGT has resulted in the delay of that show? Good luck trying to get an audience for this show especially in Sydney.

Also how nice of them to keep feeding us the same old thing twice a year

One season a year is enough.

Possibly not their preference either but maybe they’re just trying to do what they can manage in the changing covid environment. At least it will mean local jobs… that’s good news.

Problem is without a studio audience, how will the elimination process work?

Kruger’s comments suggests DWTS going ahead is very much contingent on whether Sydney is out of lockdown by September or not

Melbourne managed to do DWTS for many years, could do it here again…

What did DWTS do on Ten with Amanda Kellar when there was no studio audience in some episodes? I know they had the crew sitting in the audience socially distancing. But i forgot how the voting worked for those episodes.

Agree. Move production to Melbourne, the local industry needs it down here.

This again? And the Sydney industry doesn’t need it?

I think you have your fare share at the moment.

The local industry is dead in Melbourne.

Everyone’s suffering in one way or another. Not everything’s about Melbourne. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

That version was live and voting was done by home viewers.

Melbourne doesn’t close the film industry down for lockdowns and Sydney is fucked for a long time now, rest of 2021. Plus yes, Sydney took a lot of productions up there this year.

It isn’t Sydney locking down productions. It’s the networks or studios who are doing that. The balancd has been in Melbourne’s favour for a long time. No need to get snarky now that they shift the other way for one reason or another.

Bullshit…?
Since when?

Melbourne local productions have halved in the last 18 months. Especially from the Seven Network who is greatly opting for Sydney production. Let me know if there is anything that I’ve missed.

With respect, you have no idea what you’re talking about. Work has dried up here for freelancers, if it wasn’t for two major US programs here, it’d be very quiet.

Maybe if Seven weren’t airing stripped down (aka rushed) versions of all their formats they wouldn’t get to half way through the year and realise they need to bring something back to pad a few weeks at the end of the year.

Seems a bit short sighted of them to commission versions of shows which have clearly been stripped back to cut costs when they end up having to commissioned two or three extra series to fill the weeks left at the end of the year.
