I like to try everything new and this has been much better than what I was expecting. Dannii is a fantastic host, the judges are very likeable and giving more advice than expected. The best part is the pacing which is really good, short intros and straight into the performance and judging and lets move on.
The drawbacks are the songs are so cliche for the professions, they are really pushing the work angle, and I have no idea how the show actually works, does the lowest scoring team go home each episode?

I had the same issue. The rules or structure of the competition weren’t explained so I switched off. Weird that each judged scored out of 30. It was fun and camp. Some silly stuff, like the obsession with elevator shots and fake entrances through a lift. But it is a good alternative to reno, food and singing competitions.

The fake giraffe and the constant ads every ad break on Plus7 put me off even bothering to watch it …

Not sure if I’m allowed to mention the ratings number yet but according to TV Tonight you got one of those figures right or close to it . Not sure if Seven would be happy although it did marginally better than Survivor .
Or is it one of those shows that will grow like House Rules did ?

It had mild potential, but it needed to fully commit to being camp and cheesy. It was kind of half way there, yet they still tried to make us care by showing all the pointless backstories. A male/female comedian alongside Dannii wouldn’t have gone astray either to really lighten things up.

I also don’t understand why shows like these aren’t shot as LIVE either? The editing was all over the shop, which makes it very hard to watch.
This isn’t LIVE? So it was filmed months ago with the finale ? Odd…
Yep. I don’t have a problem with that but when they film it should be shot as live with any mistakes kept in the final edit. It would make the whole thing feel a lot more authentic.

The weird cutaways to crowd, and the abrupt end to applauses are dead giveaways. Also when Dannii hastily started any intro or throw to break. It gives it a rushed feeling when you compare it to formats that were live such as DWTS or SYTYCD (in earlier seasons).
Editors need to learn how to let shows breathe a little bit more. It’s the same problem I have with Little Big Shots.

Not surprised it flopped. It has flop written all over it. First Australia is not interested in dancing and hasn’t been for at least a decade since the second season of SYTYCD. Second apart from the trainwreck novelty of it, who was the target audience? It finishes too late for young kids and anyone else isn’t interested in it.
I watched the first episode during the repeat. Yep way too much padding, judges that don’t want to be mean and the vibe was just weird. I have no clue what they were going for but it felt cheesy, boring and something that belonged in the variety era of the 70’s.
Danni was a great host though. Kind, bubbly and warm. Seven needs to find a better show for her.
