Equally interesting in that article is the news that the Test championship is now over a 2 year period culminating in a Grand Final.
Not sure about the numbering, I think it works well with the coloured clothing for other formats, will see what it looks like in the Ashes.

New Zealand are playing so dreadfully after 26 overs scoring 2-85. I couldnât believe why they play terrible cricket. They were meant to be contenders but suddenly they are still struggling

Difficult to judge really until India have batted as well.
NZ have a very good pace attack, they can make life difficult for India.

Spinners like jadeja and chahal are doing well.

So now hereâs where the rules become a little stupid. With rain washing out the day with NZ in their 47th over, the match instead of being restarted tomorrow now RESUMES from that point. What makes it even worse was that if they were able to restart the game on the original day, with NZâs innings being concluded and a reduced overs D/L chase for India set, then the game would resume with the reduced chase for India in effect instead of a full 50 overs. Of course NZ will need to be desperately hoping the weather gets at least 20 Indian overs in because if tomorrowâs reserve day is washed out (forecast not that encouraging with rain forecast in the morning and much ground clean up required) India will advance on higher position (which would advantage Australia in the same situation in the other semi final, but stupidly would not advantage anyone in the final as the trophy would be shared).

Yes, and if conditions were to be much sunnier today, India would have a big advantage in making those same runs with the same overs available with the ball less likely to be swinging with no cloud cover around.
Still, NZ did win the toss and chose to bat first knowing this could happen.
Manchester is forecasted to be overcast with showers later in the night. So hopefully there will be no problems with the pitch.

Incredible!
India are 3 for 5, chasing 240 for victory against NZ!
NEW ZEALAND ARE INTO THE FINAL!!!

New Zealand, YES, you read that right, the unfancied Black Caps have knocked over the highly rated Indians to be the first team into the World Cup final, winning by 18 runs.
Jadeja and Dhoni put on a masterful century stand to haul India back from a disastrous 6-82, but they lost their wickets late in the proceedings to all but ensure a NZ win.
Well done Kiwis, ENG or AUS await.

This is very interesting. Traditionalists will be upset but I donât think itâs quite fair that the MCG gets it every year.

The same can be said about the Sydney test in the first week of January.
Well done to NZ for beating India. The Black Caps took crucial early wickets to have India at 3/5 and, despite the fightback by Dhoni and Jadeja, the team never panicked and went on to win.

I agree, I know the MCG gets the biggest crowds, but I agree other venues like Perth and also South Africa get to host Boxing Day Tests.
South Africa have played a few Boxing Day Tests here, so I think itâs only fair that we reciprocate and play some there.

If that happened I fear for the future of the game in Australia. The crowds in Perth for India last year were well below expectations and itâs doubtful that an increased marquee test will improve that (plus it would mean either a start time far too early for Perth or extend the bloated BBL further, their test usually is played before the BBL starts). Plus cricket in South Africa is stagnant at best if not dying,
Besides, Iâm personally growing sick of this so called fairness crusade being fought on almost every front. Itâs ruining Australia and dividing us rather than being a uniting force. If people started to realise life is NEVER meant to be fair and to make the best of the hand weâve been dealt, people would actually be happier, and this country wouldnât be in such a state of self destruction.

May as well go for the $100 now I reckon.
$29.50 isnât a lot these days.
I shall revisit after the results tonight (or tomorrow, weather dependent)
