The Cricket Awards tonight are going to be weird with the mens team being conspicuous by their absence

Yeah, odd decision to have it in the middle of an overseas tour.

To be fair it’s normally held at this time of year.

Absolutely crazy this was the case

Interesting to see they’ve chosen the date/month of passing the milestone rather than the match start month

And the first Pom this century :joy:

I mean probably?

Let’s all guess the nationality of his replacement… (IND or ENG)

Marcus Stoinis announced his retirement from ODIs this afternoon, but he would remain available for T20 internationals.

Probably another becoming a T20 mercenary. Wonder if it’s cause he came to the realisation that he had been pigeon-holed as a white ball player and there were no prospects of him getting a baggy green

Well he hasn’t retired from Tests! Only ODIs.

I think Glenn Maxwell said something kind of similar recently, that he thinks he probably won’t get another chance to play Test cricket again.

It’s looking like it’ll be another early finish with this test, Australia have already got 5 wickets in Sri Lank’s second innings and the home side still trail…

At stumps Sri Lanka are eight down with the lead of 54, with Kusal Mendis unbeaten on 48. He is the key between an easy Australian win or a possible Australian loss. The Aussies will be looking to wrap the SL innings quickly, because if Kusal is able to repeat his performance in the first innings when he made 85, the lead will be over 100, and the tourists will have a tricky run chase.

Sri Lanka all out, two very early wickets. Australia now chasing just 74 runs.

Australia easily reached the 74 target with the loss of Travis Head’s wicket. The tourists won the series 2-0, the first series win in Sri Lanka since 2011. In his 100th and final test before retirement, Sri Lankan opener Dimuth Karunaratne made 36 and 14.

Alex Carey was named player of the match and Steve Smith was player of the series.
